Re: Juno-106 problem (not voice chip)

You'll need to calibrate the filter on that voice then. If the pitch of the tone is off compared to the other voices with resonance all the way up, adjust it with VR29 (voice 1). If the resonance is weaker on that voice compared to the other voices, adjust that with VR26. After calibrating resonance...

Re: should i do it

You'll get more if you sell it yourself.

But then, the keyboard version of the M3 is just the module set atop a keyboard. I wonder if you can buy just the keyboard piece without the module and use it with your module.

Re: Juno-106 problem (not voice chip)

Sounds like your Juno needs to be calibrated. The service manual can be downloaded from here: http://manuals.fdiskc.com/flat/Roland%20Juno-106%20Service%20Manual.pdf You'll need an oscilloscope, DVM and frequency counter or tuner to do the job properly. But as a quick fix, you could do the VCA Gain ...

Re: Synths used by 2 Unlimited

Someone on gearslutz thinks they used a Casio CZ1000. Don't know if this is true or not.

They seemed to use a supersaw-like sound a lot, before the JP-8000 even came out.

Re: who uses keyboard workstation

You can program patches on romplers too. I use my Motif XS extensively, it's the hub of my setup. And I do program my own patches on it. Sure it's not as flexible as a real synthesizer but it's pretty capable and it sounds great. I have other synths to do the real synthy stuff on. It's a good go-to ...

Re: Can someone program a PIC16f84 for me?

The problem with the 16F84A is that it would still need to be the right 18 pin package. I only have the hex code available on that website. I'm located in atlanta georgia. Back to the drawing board I suppose... 18 pin DIP package, right? http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Microchip/PIC16F84A-20I-P...

Re: Can someone program a PIC16f84 for me?

The PIC16F84A is compatible. The 628A could be made to work but we'd need the source code instead of just a hex file since the 628A has features the 84A lacks that would need to be disabled in the code (e.g. comparators, A/D etc.) Where are you located? In the USA? I usually get my stuff from mouser...

Re: D-550 Backlight Replacement Procedure?

There's instructions on Telesis's website - they sell replacement backlights. It's not that difficult. Remove the cover, remove the front panel to expose the board, then you have to unsolder the two pads on the old backlight (sticking out from behind the LCD). Once you free up the pads, you pull the...

Re: Can someone program a PIC16f84 for me?

I have a PIC programmer (PICkit 2). Where are you located? You can send the chip to me and I can flash it for you and send it back, or why not just buy a PICkit 2 from Microchip? They're inexpensive and you can flash your own PICs with it. EDIT: Do you have the chip already? The PIC16F84A replaced t...

Re: Andromeda tips & tricks thread

synthaholic, what exactly do you mean by "inverted relative"? whether it flips the phase or not? here are some 2 more graphs: How do you differentiate "inverting the waveform" vs. "flipping the phase?" I'm referring to the polarity being flipped, such that the positive part of the wave is negative ...

2 new Christmas tunes, plus 6 old ones

Here's 2 new Christmas songs, plus 6 old ones: Ave Maria (Bach/Gounod version with some of my own flair added... guess that makes it the Bach/Gaunod/kpatz version) ;) Features my Motif XS and Andy. Still, Still, Still featuring my Motif XS, Andy, TX802 and D-550. My 2008 creations: The First Noel Ji...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

Well, if a seller prices their item too high, it won't sell. Unless someone wants it real bad. Someone who pays $1500 for a SH-101... either they're an idiot or they want that SH-101 REALLY bad. But if you have an SH-101 and aren't in a big hurry to sell it, price it high and see if someone bites. I...

Re: Foreigner-I wanna know what love is-synth??

The bell-sounding pads are probably DX7 but there's more going on in that song than that... I hear some Emulator II in there or something along those lines--some of the pads sound like those in Mr. Mister's "Broken Wings" which was EII, and some analog too like Prophet-5 or Jupiter-8 or something.

Re: Foreigner-I wanna know what love is-synth??

There's definitely DX7 in there, but the pads are from something else. There were a number of synth players on that album, so probably a wide range of gear was used. If I had to guess, I'd say Jupiter-8, Emulator II (some of the pads sound like it), maybe Synclavier as well.

Re: Christmas Songs - again!

Things have been crazy this year so not as much time to spend making Christmas synth-mas tunes unfortunately. I managed to crank out this one though. I'm not sure I'm happy with the mix yet, but here it is for everyone to hear. Lots of Andromeda in this one, of course. Still, Still, Still
