Re: Winter NAMM 09 flood begins

Yeah, I just went to 2.0 a couple hours ago. Ton of new sample based waveforms (though I haven't gone through all of them yet) some enhancements to time trip pad functionality Enhancements to what tone-efx parmaters could be assigned to manual modulation Enhancements to step modulators and appregia...

Re: Winter NAMM 09 flood begins

Man was I disappointed at Korg; the Pink Kaossilator has only one advantage over the original - it's pink instead of yellow. Other than that it's identical:

Re: RS-7000, any good for x0x-style sequencing?

Oh, forgot to mention; the RS7000 has both better & more effects. Plus it has a "master effect" section. Though it's not availablle for resampling, it's quite cool.

Re: Most Creative Samplers

Emu's Transform Multiply function is pretty cool. Had that on my old ESI-32 and now on Emulator X2. Transform Multiply scans the sonic spectrum of the two samples, emphasizes the frequencies that are similar, and discards the rest. Most of the time junk comes out, but sometimes you get something go...

Having just aquired Korg DS-10 for the Nintendo DS, I must say I'd love to see another product like it. What about a Yamaha DS7 or Roland DS-303? :D

Re: RS-7000, any good for x0x-style sequencing?

Also, the resampling features are brilliant. Only downside is no loop crossfade, so resampling is not very good for sustained loops. But for beats it is phenomenal. I suggest you go for the RS7000 over the rm1x.

Re: RS-7000, any good for x0x-style sequencing?

RS-7000 has "loop remix" feature which works on both audio and midi. This is missing in the rm1x - some other differences as well, too tired now to remember ;)

Re:

Congrats for the new sampler Hugo. The rs7k now got a very nice multisampling friend :O) What are those softwares for, mind to share a bit? Thanks! :) The bZone software is for controlling the sampler via the computer, and it actually works very well indeed. Navigating through the menus can be quit...

Re: Your dream synth ?

Yes! I second 23's thoughts on an expanded V-Synth. I would like to add a sequencer, though. And maybe expansion slots for Rolands SRX cards, plus the new ones.

Re: Critique my planned setup please...

What about the Korg Triton? Too expensive? Looking at the alternatives, I'd go for a Triton instead. Remember it has sampling, sequencing, the option for the MOSS board + Karma software.
