I think the nano keyboard could've had at least a couple of knobs.

synthesizerist; The RS7000 is excellent for controlling other gear. It also sports two midi outs. Only restricition could be 'only' 16 tracks (I believe the MPCs have 32 or more). For the music I make, this is not an issue. But I don't use the RS for sequencing other stuff, I use it stand-alone, and...

wouldn't it be the dx200, not the an?
Woops, yeah you're right, sorry about that :)

Hmm, to duplicate the dx7, you'd need the plg150-dx plug-in, or the an200. You can probably get both at a good price secondhand. Well, the plg would obviously require a plug-in compatible synt, such as the Motif/Motif ES, cs6x or similar. But still, the Motif XS can probably get you close to many of...

yamaha pushed the RS really hard when it was new, and it didn't get the sort of sales they were looking for. as much as i agree that a new updated RS would be incredible, i dont think they find it financially rewarding to cater to the desires of many VSE'ers. Yeah, that's probably the situation. Bu...

if Yamaha could release a new RS.... that's what always on my mind too. when I wake up this morning, I thought that a RS7000 MKII with USB, More FX, multisampling, etc would be fine. Just share the OS update with the original RS7000. I read somewhere that a person who installed a Nord Micro Modular...

Why do you make an exception for these?
Personally I use a Yamaha RS7000 + various trackers for drums. Both these approaches are great, and have their own benefits.

yeah I've watched that Zamizers video when he's doubling the oscs sound to make a fatter sounding synth sound, which make it a total of 4 elements capable synth. But I haven't found that necessary to me, since I always have the AN1x or Evolver around the RS. Yeah, that's pretty much my situation as...

crystalmsc;
Have you tried the trick with connecting the midi out to midi in? Setup the right way, one is able to control and edit to tracks at the same time. I think Zamise had a video on Youtube demonstrating this...

I've been looking all over, but can't seem to find out just how much sample time/how big samples the unit can hold...? Any info would be greatly appreciated! :D PS! Untouchable, thanks for your input. Your opinion clarifies what I suspected. Softsynths are only capable of producing certain types of synth sound. I guess I'd better start saving up (again)!! :wink: That, I strongly doubt. I do not have extensive experience with hardware analogue synths, but I str...

If you liked the Juno G, and is able to get it at an acceptable price - go for it. More possibilities with the G than with an old analogue, ready for retirement.

If you really want a hardware sampler, and mainly for mangling sounds in a creative way, I'd have to second Architecture's recommendation of either a Yamaha Ax000, or E-mu. Regarding the latter, I think you would be wise to look for some of the newer models, such as the E5000 Ultra. When it comes to...

I must say the drum kits on the RS7000 are very much to my liking. Very nice quality and great sounding. ALOT better than those on the rm1x. Also, the sequencer is absolutely fab - although a bit puzzling at first maybe. Effects are awesome. Synth sounds are good, but the RS7000 leaves a bit to be d...
