Hmm, I came across this software for the DS: http://nitrotracker.tobw.net/ It's kind of a Fasttracker clone for the Nintendo. And I love trackers :) Anyone tried it? I'm guessing it's not possible to run Nitrotracker and Korg DS-10 at the same time, but would it be possible to sync two DS units usin...

I used to have the A4000, and it was awesome. Nowadays I'm too lazy for hardware sampling, but I think nothing beats the A4000/5000 samplers (having said that, I'd probably get an Akai S5000 instead, but that's *only* because of the usb port - in terms of features, the A-samplers rule).

Some questions:
1) does the Nintendo DS have audio outs?
2) if not, how do I record my sounds
3) can I program several patterns & chain up a song, or is it just one pattern?

Anyways, this thing looks awesome! I'll probably be buying a Nintendo DS just to get this synth.

Not sure of stand-alone units, but there are plenty developed for NI Reaktor.

The Yamaha RS7000 is an awesome drummachine/sequencer, with some fairly good synth sounds. Efx are stellar. I've actually considered buying another one :D

Hope you find the software inspirational, MrHope :D
A friend of mine has Kore2 and Komplete 5, and he raves on about it.
Personally I have Reaktor 5, which in my opinion is simply fantastic. With regard to the only user library, Reaktor must be the best bang-for-the-buck software ever.

Have fun! :D

When I bought the Yamaha A4000 it was no question for me. The only other sampler I wanted at the time was its bigger brother the A5000. If I were to buy a hw-sampler today, however, I think I would go for the Akai S5000 instead. The reason is usb, plain and simple. If it wasn't for this, I'd get the...

If I were you, I'd invest some more money and get a higher spec'ed sampler. My suggestion would be the Yamaha A4000 or A5000, or Akai's S5000 (with the huge benefit of usb).

I think the limitations on the s950 and ASR-10 might get on your nerves after a while.

RS7000+ are in my dreams too. If Yamaha could implement a Motif ES chip + the A5000 sampler, the rs7000+ would be perfect imo. They could even use the same OS and screen, as far as I'm concerned (that would obviously not happen, though). Actually I was playing my rs7000 earlier today, and it still ...

I have the rack and I think it's wonderful. Especially at pads & soundscapes.

A new groovebox from Yamaha, incorporating a Motif sound chip (ES would be more than adequate) & expanded synthesis.
Basically an expanded rs7000 is what I'm hoping for.

I'd say the worst I've come across is the rm1x. Although the sequencer is very good, the synth part is shite - I've still managed to crank out some stellar sounds, but that's got more to do with my awesome programming skills :D
