Re: Sampler
Excellent rundown, somebedroomdj, many thanks! :-) I'm very interested in the 909, so I'll try to get hold of one asap. I also deeply regret not buying the su700 when it was released. I do have the RS7000, but I don't find it to be that great for a sampler, tbh. It's a very capable machine, but when...

Re: Cool LFOs
Well, one of the more common things I like program on it is a sine wave since the default tri wave isn't quite the same thing, sine makes better bass wobbles. Another common one I'll do is turning the pitch amount up with it stepped (no slopes) and bpm synced, so it is sort of like a square sample ...

Re: Cool LFOs
Yamaha RS7000 has a programble LFO with 16 steps, stepped and or up and down slopes, and random. I'm not 100% sure, tell me I'm wrong if so, but I think it is unique to it and not even on the RM1x or Motifs. It is just internal but can also be applied to samples, I wish it had some more options, bu...

@somebedroomdj:
What is your overall view of the mc-909? It seems quite interesting tbh.

Re: Sampler
Regarding the Mashine Micro, be ware that it has to be connected to your computer. If that's no problem, it would perhaps be the best choice of those you mention. If you need a stand alone unit, the sp404 is definately an option, but I think it only features one track for all the samples (note that ...

Re: Cool LFOs
The Yamaha RS7000 is deinately not the best sounding synth out there, but one cool thing is its lfo, which is programmable

Re: Reason, Renoise, Fruity Loops or other?
How about Ableton Live? There may still be some strange solutions MIDI wise present in Live, but for me it's worked great

I think this is a cool project. Especially if you're a Jarre fan, like myself. I would buy these samples if I didn't already own a D50

Regarding editors, there is an app called Hokusai.

Re: iPad audio interface, looping sequencer, and audio edito
Regarding apps, I highly recommend you check out the following (not sure, though, what would be the best approximation to Live, so these are some general tips): - Samplr - Waldorf Nave (awesome synth) - Korg iKaossilator - Looptastic (might be what you're after) Also be sure to pick up the multi eff...
