The MoPho will be my next synth purchase. (I was put off by the Blofeld price going up.)

Re: My new Novation Nova!
AFAIK the Nova has all the same features of the SN2, minus the 2 extra output jacks and some polyphony/multitimbrality. You should be able to program the same sounds as me - it just takes longer on the Nova because of the limited UI. Congratulations - I love my Nova! For a list of differences betwe...

Keep in mind that the *main* difference still comes from the fact that JD-990 is using 44.1 kHz engine, while JV/XP runs @ 32 kHz. Thus, samples in the JD are 44.1kHz, JV/XP is 32kHz. Difference on some sounds is day / night. The higher sample rate just increases the aliasing threshold - Is that co...

P.S. Id still be interested in that card if you dont want it ;), just for the novelty factor. Congrats on the JD990! I'm pretty sure that the Techno expansion in the XP-30 is hard-wired in (or at least that's what the SOSPubs review said). I've never opened my XP-30 up other than to add the Vintage...

Re: ...
How can anyone not like the sound of modern VA's? I'll tell you the answer..... Chances are they play it through their $10 "Hi Fi" speakers thats probably the best point i've seen this month on the forums :D i'm starting to put very slow pitch lfo's on one of the oscs in my an1x to simulate oscilla...

It was from Novamusik that I heard about it. The had it listed with Buy It Now for $599 and provided the link I posted above = an R3 for $399. Hmmm, I bought directly from Novamusik for $650 - $200 rebate (that hasn't arrived yet) and when I asked if they could reduce the price the salesman said "N...

There was a $200 rebate about a month ago making it $399 brand new after rebate: http://www.korg.com/gear/promotion_img/R3_couponB.pdf This is half the reason why there have been an abundance of them on ebay lately. Everyone trying to flip them. Wow - Where did you find an R3 for $599 before the $2...

Re: Synths used on Save A Prayer
I saw them in 1984 and that's what he used on that tour, the best live synth setup I've heard to date. Ah, so you're a fellow die hard? I wish I could see them. I really do. But they never come to Wisconsin... Rhodes is my all time hero....... I am pretty sure I was conceived to Duran Duran... They...

The Waves in each wavetable were created using additive syntesis on a custom computer, in the late 70-ties. Then they were stored on eproms and put into the Wavecomputer 340, 360 and the Wave 2. The 2.2 added two samples, split up into single cycle waves and stored as two wavetables. The samples ar...

Here is another comparison between the Nova synths: http://nova.fritzzz.nl/nova/ From this comparison it looks like the Nova II does have the FM configuration options. Another interesting comparison is on page 113 of the Nova OS 4 manual (just Google it if you're interested) that lists the features ...

I was playing around with serial and parallel filter routings on my Ion on Saturday. It's a nice option to also be able to take a little bit off the bottom end on pads that are already low pass filtered. What I like the most is all the different shades you can get by blending various amounts of two ...
