Re: TR-707 as midi controller?

Re: Yamaha Reface
No, it's German for Dancing Bear. It is called Tanzbär originally, with the umlaut. Without the umlaut, it would indeed be Danceable. Play of words...meatballfulton wrote:It's German for Danceable.shaft9000 wrote:the most head-scratchin' name since since.... tanzbar

Re: State-variable filters: what are they?
There are lots of cool tricks with polarizing mixers to get other filter responses. Using a BP plus inverted original signal will result in a sweep between notch and BP, for example. With further mixers you can crossfade between all kinds of shapes. Use VCAs or, better yet, VC mixers and modulate al...

If you zoom into that pic you'll notice that it is not a standard 5 pin Din connector, so looks like it's gonna be a breakout cable indeedCS_TBL wrote:Ah, right, that makes sense again..

Re: State-variable filters: what are they?
But if you look at the Oberheim SEM you'll find a knob that sweeps continuously from low pass to high pass (with notch in the middle) rather than switching between the modes. The pot controlling the sweep is just blending the three outputs. That's not possible with ladder filters. You can do it wit...

http://i61.tinypic.com/2zoeutj.jpg You know what is awesome!? This thing probably has programmable algorithms. Was thinking that too first (display sure looks like that should be possible), but the (preliminary? rumoured?) specs say 4 operator 12 algorithms :dontknow: Looks fun nevertheless, and on...

Re: TR-626 Triggering a Juno 60 / SH 101
Take this trigger sample (thanks Makenoise!), put it into the sampler of the DAW of your choice, route it to an audio output of your interface (full volume!), to the synth's clock input, bam!

Or midi clock the 626 and program your triggers there...

Re: Ultimate Portable Multitrack Sequencing Sampling Setup
Welcome to the board! That's a tricky one. I think your best bet to do it all in one box is indeed an MPC (500 is the only one that can be battery-powered), but I'm not exactly sure whether that'd be "live" enough for what you want... They do have internal sounds but they kinda suck and you will wan...
