Re: What Was the Most Organic Sounding Synth Ever Released?
You know this question can't be answered and it doesn't even qualify for a Zen koan.

Re: My Studio Setup (youtube video)
who can argue with a talking monkey in a hat. Besides, prerequisite is my Word of the Day today and I had to find a way to use it somewhere. This ritual was inspired from watching Pee Wee's Playhouse, where at the beginning of each show they picked out a secret Word of the Day and whenever any...

Re: My Studio Setup (youtube video)
I didn't know it was a prerequisite to have real analog synths when posting pics or videos of your studio setup.
If that were true, many of the synths posted so far wouldn't be allowed.
Is there something in the Sept air?
I love the cat vid.

Re: Tom Oberheim Interview - Need Your Help
I think the reason that everyone wants to know if there will be TV and FV keyboards is because it will determine whether some of us will buy the drop in modules or the stand alone ones. I would rather not buy a stand alone one if there indeed will be a TV or FV coming in the near future. I would pr...

Re: Tom Oberheim Interview - Need Your Help
I know what his answer will be regarding reissue of other oberheim products such as 2 voice, 4 voice, keyboard or sequencer versions. He's going to say "right now I'm concentrating on reissuing the SEM, and all my energy at the moment is focused on getting these into the hands of consumers". The SEM...

Re: Guess the synths (And the winner is...)
Thanks guys :D I might do a new quiz of this type within the soon future so keep your eyes and ears open! cheers, Micke Sounds like fun Micke. I think the multiple choice system you later used worked much better than the blind listening test, there are just too many synths to choose from without it...

Re: Why does synths "die"?
Why do synths die? smoky clubs, touring, getting dropped by roadies, or getting knocked around while being shipped from ebay customer to customer. Many vintage electronic parts have a shelf-life and after x amount of hours they weaken, break or fail. Also some of the manufacturer's weren't as intere...

Re: Guess the synths (And the winner is...)
Very interesting to read what the synths were Micke.
At least I knew it was Pat Metheny(and Lyle Mays), they have such a recognizable sound it was hard to miss.
Thanks for taking the time to put that together for us Micke.

Re: Guess the synths (now with alternative answers added)
1)Elka Synthex
2)CS80
3)Prophet 5+OB 4voice
4)OB 4 voice
5)Fairlight
6Kurzweil 250
7)Moog Modular
My guess is Pat Metheney.

Re: Digital V.A.S.T
why were you bidding on something you didn't know what it was? what made you choose the Kurzweil? It's always good to do as much research as possible before deciding to purchase used or new equipment, a simple search on VAST would have given you a plethora of information. Don't mean to sound hard on...

Re: The PPG 1020/1002 synths

Samples there too: http://www.ppg.synth.net/1002_20/ Thanks for the german site link. I couldn't read the text but very...

Re: Patch website (idea -vote after reading)
seamonkey, thanks for that link, This would just be super simple, you would gain access to everything on the first page (sort of like Vintage Synth) and it would all be on-screen.. You're welcome. If you're up to the task, I think it sounds like a great idea. It has been years since I've been to th...

Re: Patch website (idea -vote after reading)
There is already a website that does this, however I don't think they have any for vintage analogs or diagrams as you suggest.
It's called Patch Arena, in fact I submitted some, many years ago for the Steinberg Model E VST.
