Tascam 388 Studio 8 Analog Tape deck

This isn't an analog vs digital thread but I wanted to share with you my excitement over my newest e-bay purchase. It was quite by accident I came across an auction for a very clean Tascam 388 on ebay. Some months ago I had tried winning one but lost and gave up on getting one because many up for sa...

Whatever happened to the Mattson Mini Modular?

The last time I heard anything was over on Matrixsynth around the beginning of the year, he had pictures of all the cabinets stacked up.

Ahhh forget those presets, if you're like me you'll spend 3-4 hours going through them like cold beers on a hot day, many will be average and you'll find a few gems. Forget them and dig into the machine and roll some of your own, from the demos I've heard it has great sonic potential to be a monster...

there really is nothing that can replace it Except maybe the V-Synth with a D50 card.... A D50 AND MUCH MORE !! Well I had a V-synth, I also sold it to go towards my Solaris pre-order. It's a great synth, lots of options for creativity. I bought the Roland D50 card for it and loaded my sound...

Until recently I had the Roland JD990, 1080 and a JV1010. I sold them all to help finance my Solaris order. They are great synths, once had a xp50 too. I've always loved the filters and rez on those boxes, stray off the menu path, start messing with the lfo's, filters, envelopes and you can come up ...

Well I'm a bit confused so maybe we can clear up a few questions. You mention Pro Tools so let's assume this is what you are using. Do you want to totally get away from using the computer and record everything outside of it and then mix down to Pro Tools? Do you want to record more than one instrume...

I'm a vegetarian. I'd just say "don't eat the steak."
I am too but I've always felt it was my choice and what other's choose to eat is theirs.

I find some suggestions here a lot like a vegetarian telling someone how to barbeque a steak. In all seriousness, marriage is a partnership both financially and emotionally. I've put my wife through more c**p in 30 years with my episodes of GAS so I speak from experience. She has been wonderfu...

Re: List Good Cheap FX's

Id like to make this a list and a sticky as I would like to make this list as definite as possible. There is a sticky at the top of this page under Effects Review. I was reading it the other day when I was searching for some ideas on effects I'd like to get. I think it's a great sticky which has po...

Hi soto, welcome to VSE.
It's always nice to add another color to one's sound by adding synthesis generated from another synthesizer.
I think the Prophet 08 and the modular would go together very well, especially since you will be using two analogs.
Good luck.

Korg Wavestation parts

Does anyone have a link for Korg parts? in particular I'm looking to replace a keyguide for one of my keys. I've tried all the Korg links, forum links, googled and all I can find is backlights.
Thank you

Designs existed for a five space rack-mount/tabletop version of Andromeda that was never built. Most of the knobs 'n buttons were there, except there was only one set each of the osc, filter and envelope controls with a toggle to switch them between destinations. There was also a scaled down eight ...
