Just curious Michael because I've given thought to getting a Lexicon MX200 what your thoughts are on it, the delay you used with the Prophet 08 sounds fantastic.

As far as the Prophet 08 goes, check out some of Keyboardwizards youtube vid's, he has some linked right here in the Listening Lounge. As far as GC goes, I went there today to get some cable organizers and swore I'd never go back. In fairness to the sales people, I don't think they make much money a...

Another couple of awesome Prophet 08 videos.
It looks like you are really enjoying this synth, more than any other vid I've seen you do.
Thanks Keyboardwizard.

Sorry to hear they're disconnected, the owner worked on my Ensoniq and they were quite honest. Don't know of any place around here where you could check out the Prophet 98. When it first came out I called the local Guitar Center and all they could say was it was a great idea and they were going to c...

I don't know if they work on vintage synths but back in 02 my VFX-SD needed repair and this place did a great job, it might be worth a call.
They are located in Warren Michigan.
I will pm you their phone number.

I personally prefer the synthesizers.com sound and will soon begin building a porta 22 system. I've done quite a bit of research before coming to this decision and besides the sound difference between the manufacturers one must consider what type of modules you'd like to add in the future. Do you wa...

Re: How Did They Do It?

But in the mid-1970's before the likes of the Roland Micro-composer was available, artists like Tomita were creating these very detailed, long, winding sequences with their massive Moog Modulars and Roland System-700's. Is the reason you don't hear stuff like that today simply that it was so diffic...

At one time I had both in my studio and they compliment each other very well. I would have to go with the JD800, it's one of my all time favorite synths and I miss it a lot, unfortunately I just don't have room for such a huge beast. The JD is easy to coax new sounds from, just moving the sliders an...

If I remember correctly they(Keyboard) came to the same conclusion about the VFX(about it sounding muffled) and I admit for a long time I had the same impression, it reminded me of a thin wall stopping the full sound from getting through. Mind you I was used to playing my D50 and the sonic differenc...

I came across this bit of info on the Hollowsun site. many of the on-board waveforms weren't as multi-sampled as they could (or should) have been and many waveforms had just a single sample that covered the entire keyboard range. Those that were 'multi-sampled', only had two or three samples to cove...

You might find something here @ synthesizers.com. They have links to synthesizer books as well as some tutorials(there is one for modulars but I haven't checked it out).

http://www.synthesizers.com/links.html

scroll down to the Synthesizer Tutorials links.
Good luck.

I wouldn't exactly say the Wavestation has a terrible sound. It's capable of some beautiful ethereal sounds, I've created some beautiful choir sounds, as well as some haunting beautiful pads. Are you talking about isolating the samples? or listening without effects? I do fault Korg for their faulty ...
