I've got a JD800 on the bottom tier of my 699. I had to turn the retainers at the end of the arms downward -- the synth sticks out past the ends of the arms by about an inch. Fortunately, the rubber collars on the arms do a good job of gripping the bottom of the synth and preventing it from going an...

And a post on Matrixsynth, with a few photos. Apparently the owner is trying to sell it privately before putting it up for auction.

There's a little bit of a difference in the VCOs. Not enough so that most people will notice. The big difference, other then memory is in MIDI implementation. They can both play notes and respond to controllers just fine, but the sysex on the M1000, except for not storing patch names, is more comple...

But if you're really, really interested, the 2500 used in Close Encounters of the Third Kind is for sale. It's going to make that guy who was trying to get $60K for a Synthi 100 on Ebay look like a piker. :cya:

Actually, the M-Tron documentation says that some of the Mk II tape banks were indeed miked. Their reasoning: That's the way the Mk II was recorded back in the day. Apparently the earlier Mk II's did not have a line out.

There are only a handful working ones in existence. And it's my understanding that they require a lot of maintenance to keep the pin patch matrices working.

Are you sure you didn't mean the 2600?

Isn't it depressing to think that a song that's created recently might never even get there? Yeah, there's a real possibility that if I live to 2050, which would make me 90-something, works created before I was born will still be under copyright. As a tech industry person, it doubly hacks me off be...

Classical music is in the public domain I'm sure you know this already, but I'll say it anyway: Not all classical music is. Basically, it's safe to assume that anything that was published prior to 1900 is. After that (particularly for stuff from 1900-1930), it depends on a lot of things. To name on...

I'd be leery of cramming that many channels down USB, so that leaves the Alesis out. I've read mostly good opinions about the Onyx. Haven't seen or heard of the Korg, but usually DJ-type mixers aren't satisfactory for mixing down songs.

I bought the original version of Absynth when it first came out. I liked it. But I later "lost" it because of a snafu (that was well-publicized at the time) with NI's registration system. So I didn't buy Absynth 2. But maybe now I need to go check it out again.
