Submitting CD track names for Windows Media Player
Hi All: I have a client who wants his CD info to show up in WMP as well as iTunes. I have the latter taken care of, but I'm having trouble finding out how to submit the CD info for Media Player (Windows apparently doesn't use Gracenote/CDDB). Anyone who's done this and wants to share the secret? Tha...

Re: ARP 2600 and Minimoog: A match made in Heaven
For every "Moog España" there were a couple of Jean Jacques Perrey or Mort Garson albums! :) While a lot of them were s**t (but retain a lot of value as kitsch and as great demonstrations of Moog modular timbre), a lot of them were pretty cool. Good point. But if you want demos, you can't beat the ...

Re: ARP 2600 and Minimoog: A match made in Heaven
if you corral a hundred non-musicians over the age of 40 and ask them if they know what an "ARP" is, to a man they'll likely shrug. The same can't be said if you throw the word "Moog" out there. The majority might not know, but a significant minority will. Except if you pronounce it correctly, they...

Re: ARP 2600 and Minimoog: A match made in Heaven
I guess the counter-argument to this is that the word Moog became something of a eponym (i.e. back in the early '70s some people not intimately familiar with synthesizers used the word "Moog" to denote all makes of synths, much as we say "Xerox" for photocopier or "Kleenex" for tissue). Synthesizer...

Re: ARP 2600 and Minimoog: A match made in Heaven
One thing to keep in mind is that, in the 70s, ARP had a very aggressive marketing/endorsement campaign, IMO, compared to Moog. You could hardly read Contemporary Keyboard or other mag from that era that didn't have numerous ads with heavyweight artists playing ARP gear--Zawinul, George Duke, Pete T...

Re: Macbook specs for Protools LE and Mbox 2.
I would not recommend the Macbook + Mbox 2 combo. I actually just sold my Mbox because it f**k up a lot on my Macbook. There's something strange about how the macbook and mbox interacts with eachother. Try to "google mbox macbook problems" or something and you will get a lot of hits. I am now borro...

Re: Legalities of using the word MiniMoog
Kevin Lightner is building a Minimoog filter module. My guess is that if anyone would be sensitive about a Moog copyright issue, it would be him. Here's the panel layout (Hope this is OK, Kevin):

Where did the "Wendy Carlos" track go?
Am I dreaming??? About a week ago I came across a post that had a very Carlos-like audio file. It was a classical track with vocoder that had a Latin verse to it. The poster said it was done on an Arturia Modular V. Excellent!! I've checked the forum and have been unsuccessful in locating it. I'm ei...

I think the sequencer to his left is a Roland 700. The Moog is a IIIp w/sequencer complement.

Check out the liner notes to Encore, TD's 1977 North American tour. A good list of equipment used.
Also, look up Micke's posts on this forum--he's posted a bunch of amazing TD photos from different periods.
