DON'T get rid of it. Like sam says, probably bad caps/supply overhaul time. Broke is hopefully temporary--a 2600 is forever.

I've seen Voyagers go on CL and eBay for @ $2000, and P08s for @ $1500. Since I'd probably be selling a couple of polysynths after getting the latter, and trhe LP after getting the former, I could easily get BOTH a Voyager and a Prophet in budget and have some money left over to put some money into...

If those software manufacturers do use the name, they doubtless pay some kind of royalty for commercial use.

The worst that could happen is that you'll get some kind of cease-and-desist order from Moog. Maybe nothing will happen. But the fact that you're inquiring about the legality says something about whether you should use the name at all.
