Sounds like a collaboration between Vangelis and Eric Serra. Take this as a compliment! Nice work.

Re: Favorite use of the Synclavier?
^^^^ Hey what sounds are coming from the Synclavier on that song? That was always one of my favorites by Depeche Mode. I didn't think there was any Synclavier on Construction Time Again. I think of that as more a Emulator kind of thing... They definitely used one on the 'Some Great Reward' album.

Re: Whats your current computer setup like?
I think I have the most basic and inexpensive setup on this forum! My PC (got it for free from my wife's employer) runs on Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3. The processor is an 2.8GHz Intel Celeron and I have 2.5Gb RAM. I have only installed the apps required for my music on the computer;...

Question for MiniMoog owners
I was programming a lead sound on my Fantom yesterday with Minimoog samples from the SRX-07 card as a starting point. I thought it sounded quite convincing until I got to the legato setting. My question is, does the Minimoog re-trigger its envelopes when playing legato? How does it behave when playi...

Re: Digital Piano to control synth modules
I used a Yamaha P-150 as a digital piano and MIDI controller for 14 years. It has independent MIDI in and out channels as well as, believe it or not, a programmable Local On/Off setting. It has 32 programme locations, built-in speakers and stereo inputs for your synth(s). It sounds great as a piano ...

Re: Digital Re-Surgeance: Holy Grail?
I have always been a big DX7 fan and have owned a DX7S, a TX7 and a DX7 Mk 1 (and a 4-op TX-81Z). I'd like to add a TX802 to my current all-digital set-up.

Re: Yamaha DX7
Up to that point, we had analogue polysynths (the ones we could afford), which were basically DCO into VCF into VCA jobs that produced the same types of sounds. Suddenly, we had access to convincing electric pianos, wood-on-wood and metal-on-metal mallets, clangy bells, Synclavier-like 'metallic' FM...

I used to have a DX7, TX7 and FM7 at the same time and couldn't tell the difference.

I moved from France (220V) to the UK (230V - nominally 240V
