Re: My new(ish) project: lots of modular + CS-15
Sounds killer through shitty laptop speakers, I can't wait to get home with some headphones and space out. What did you use for drums?

Re: Datavis - Rainfall Gradient
I like it when you quickly switch it half speed, it is as if the track suddenly gets evil. The drums made me think that overall tonality of the track would lend itself well to a live drummer with brushes. Nice work.

Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've not heard of Harry Gregson Williams, I'll have to check out his music. ...and I see you've recently got a Model D, what do you think of it? . I really like it, it really does have it's own sound. It sounds old and very much alive. The oscillators are always driftin...

Thanks for checking it out guys. Cool, I really like the sound of that. IMO it was only too noisy at the start when all you could hear was the noise. The rest was fine, just kind of lofi. I added you on soundcloud btw. Or whatever the correct verb is for soundcloud, following, whatever. Yeah I meant...

LoFi Akai S612 demo - 2 tracks
Hey I'd love for some of you guys to have a listen to this. http://soundcloud.com/kong-selecta/harmonic It's a very noisy demo but my attempts to redo it have never captured the vibe properly. Akai S612 + Synth I know it sounds like c**p, but something about it works. sounds like a scary dream i use...

Re: Boss DR 55
mono / stereo is no issue. just buy some minijack cables. headphone adapters are handy too. Me too, for triggering that is. I use a stereo 1/8 cable with no problems. When I use my headphones with a 1/4" male to 1/8 female adapter plugged into the DR 55, there is barely any sound, and it's from jus...

Hence the semiquaver and rest symbols on the start and stop buttons respectively. I'm not that musically advanced yet ;) Ha.. Sadly, my knowledge of music theory doesnt reach far beyond that. Say.. do you want lessons? If I stay one lesson ahead of you, I'm set. Thanks for the help, I think y...

Yes. Start inserts a note and stop inserts a rest. Hence the semiquaver and rest symbols on the start and stop buttons respectively.

Re: Boss DR 55
I really like my DR-55, I've got a DR-110 as well which is 606- esque and they sound different enough to warrant having both. I guess this is an esoteric description but while the 110/606 is very polite, futuristic, electronic sounding, the DR-55 to me sounds more LoFi, dirty, tough and more woody....

Re: Sound module for cold wave sound
I'd definitely check out the Akai SG01v vintage sound module, It has a lot (128 or 256) of sampled synth sounds - moog bass and leads, Prophet 5 Pads, ARP etc. It also has string samples from the ARP Omni, the keyboard used by Joy Division on Love Will Tear Us Apart You'd just have to plug in your D...
