303 tracks that aren't acid

What are some tracks that have the 303 that aren't acid? I'm interested to hear it in other contexts. Particularly the 'squelch' but not in an acid track. I think i can hear one in 'Ray of Light' by Madonna, and there is one in that horrible Brokencyde song, but what else? Post famous songs or your ...

Re: boss dr 55

Ouch! Good advice nathanscribe, I tried it after reading the tip written above - still works, but wont be trying it again now I know 8-) Just so I know, what exactly happens if the memory chip does fail? Someone should put this after the other tip on the DR-55 comments page. Before mine was ...

Re: boss dr 55

The DR-55 is a good little machine for dark & simple sounds. Goes well with the HC-2 clapper. A word of warning though: NEVER use a 9V battery on that clip, you'll destroy the memory chip. I've seen them for sale without the original battery holder, so people think they can plug on a 9V and go. I g...

Re: boss dr 55

I love mine, it sounds a little more dirty and dark than the Dr-110.

I just noticed it on a Siouxie & the Banshee's song 'Lunar Camel' last night. Also on 'A Hundred Years' by The Cure - Listen for the rim shot. On the demo and Peel session version it's the only percussion.

Re: Basic Channel Synths/Gear

I'd never heard Basic Channel before, but thanks for making this thread! I really dig the sound.

FWIW, the effects pedals in the pic above are EHX Holy Grail reverb, Boss RV-5 reverb, and an Old EHX Electric Mistress flanger.

CS-5 noise - Is this normal?

When I have the cutoff down low on my CS-5 I notice this noise that happens whenever notes are played, for as long as the VCA is 'opened' I've included a link to a clip to save trying to describe it. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8950197 - I've got the sustain and release knobs at 1 o'clock - a...

Re: Helmtronic challenger new analogue mono

looooooks good :) Looooooks expensive! Loooooks like a Moog eater! Cool. I have a feeling it's going to be surprisingly cheap. The lite version of it (only 2 VCO's, no keyboard) is 600 euros, can't see how adding 2 oscillators, some extra routing, a keyboard and a bigger case would make it THAT muc...

Cheap Keyboard Sampler?

I'd like to get an inexpensive keyboard sampler, as the SK-1 doesnt cut it anymore 8-) The main thing I want it for is mellotron sounds, and to make textures like on i]the downward spiral[/i] and Antichrist Superstar albums. I dont need anything to crazy. The v-synth is cool but way more than what I...

So why would you name a synth after a space shuttle that exploded?
'cuz it's the bomb?

I thought of it as 'challenger' to the voyager.

Maybe they're talking Challenger Deep? especially if it has really 'deep' bass

Re: New Roland and/or Korg synths using REAL analog filters?

For 60 bucks, why complain? Why complain? Because Korg basically spat in the face of all people who hoped for a modern analog synth by "Big three". Spat in our faces? Dude, you seriously need a perspective check . Definitely. If that is all you have to get upset about, let's swap lives.
