Re: New Roland and/or Korg synths using REAL analog filters?
I may not buy any of the new Roland stuff, (though I find the Gaia way more appealing the the SH-201) but i'm not gonna b***h about it.

Yamaha CS-30L and Roland SH-2
Would you replace an SH-2 with a Yamaha CS-30L? < My gear list shows what I've already got. I dont think I'd be losing anything by parting with the SH-2. I recently acquired a CS-5 and am quite fond of the Yamaha sound/vibe. I love tweaking knobs and am really interested in the CS-30L, as some revie...

Re: Yamaha CS-5 Rules!
I love the CS series filters, I have a CS-5, CS-10, CS-20 and a CS-80. Nothing else comes close to that sound, a real change from VCF's that drive into ringing, the CS filter is pure cream. Absolutely. I really don't get why CS's are sometimes touted as boring. I'm really floored, it sounds great a...

Wow, well done on that deal, a great price and a good synth for sure. Have fun with it, simple and a good stable little analog :D hehe cheers man! I'm pleasantly surprised at how much i'm enjoying it. I thought the the fact that the filter doesn't resonate might be a bit of a drag, but i'm actually...

Yamaha CS-5 Rules!
I got a CS-5 in the mail this morning, which I bought thinking there was a problem with the VCA. I got it cheap for this reason ($150AU) I cleaned it up (it was very dusty, and had some mouse s**t on it!) and plugged it in and it works fine! All keys trigger, no scratchy pots- perfect! It cleaned up...

Re: Ministry All Day Cover with S900
Bravo!
That was unreal. I must admit i've not heard the original, but that blew my mind. The s900 sounds unreal.
The (film?) samples were killer too. Did I hear one say "watch me f**k your girlfriend" ?
Got any more s900 tracks?

Re: Which MPC for a beginner?
Thanks for all the info guys. My lady has been offered a really good price on the 2000xl, and it also has the IB-M208 - 8 parallel output and digital I/O board and EB16 - Multi-effects processor board, as well as the stuff mentioned in the first post. From a purely 'Ease of Use' perspective, does th...

Re: Synth examples, post them here.
All sounds are Korg Mono/Poly. There is a bit of delay and reverb (Boss RE-20) but no EQ, compression etc.

Re: Which MPC for a beginner?
i'd ask what she's hoping to do with it, & how she'd prefer to go about it... She's wanting to make complete tracks on the MPC - cutting and pasting samples (mostly of synth/guitar/clarinet/banjo parts she has played) and making songs. From our understanding, the MPC would be ideal for this? especi...
