Re: Tell me about the Yamaha CS-5

It is a 12dB resonant filter that does not self oscillate. The stuck note might be simply because he has the VCA turned all the way up. It's a sweet sounding synth and like most analogue synths it is over priced for what it can do. Very easy to use, does a great PWM lead sound. Thanks for the repli...

Tell me about the Yamaha CS-5

I've never used any Yamaha synths, and I've found a CS-5 at a good price. It is in excellent condition except, when you play a note it stays on, as though the VCA stays open. How do the yamaha's sound in relation to the Roland monos? (SH-2, SH-101) Does the listed problem sound like an easy fix? Is ...

Re: REVERB AND TAPE ECHOS.

+1 on the timefactor, it sounds great.

I use a Boss RX-100 for spring reverb. They can still be had pretty cheap. If Stab's JC-50 is like the JC-60, it use the same 'Z' tank as the RX-100.

Fulltone tube tape echo sounds great, but is really expensive.

mmm. Crystal Method signed 101, and red too :D
I saw that earlier today. I don't care if Satan signed it, I'd expect to pay less if its been drawn on.

.....actually maybe a Red SH-101 signed by Satan would be kinda cool to have.

Re: Electrix Warp factory

I've read a couple (only 2 or 3) of comments saying there is a lag with the warp factory, have you experienced this at all? re vocoders: I've used the Electrix Warp Factory live, and there is a slight lag in the modulator signal that can be quite off-putting (Maybe due to it being digital not analog...

Quick Question - ES-1 USB card reader/smartmedia

Sorry this is a nooby question, but I need a card reader for my ES-1 and I'm having trouble finding one locally. Re: Neon Indian synths and stuff

Yeah, personally I find most music like that performed live to be pretty underwhelming, but I like a lot of their sounds. The recordings are a solo project bedroom thing, definitely worth a listen. Here's a goodun from their album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlJ27Dcv4fc That's a cool track. Rad...

Re: Neon Indian synths and stuff

It's a juno-6 in that video.
Maybe it's because it's a TV gig (crappy levels/unfamiliar mixing), but they seem like a pretty crappy live band.

Re: Well known albums that feature the ER-1?

There is an album that has a drawing of an ER-1 and an EA-1 (mk1) on the cover. I cant for the life of me remember who it is though. :x

Re: Electrix Warp factory

I found this in the manual, so it seems I should be good to use it here without a step down converter.

Re: Electrix Warp factory

Thanks for the info. I'll try track down a manual and see if that reveals anything. Do any of the tracks on your myspace feature the electrix? Watching demos on youtube, it amazes me how clear it is. It turns out that black moth super rainbow use one, which is cool. The vocoder on their stuff sounds...
