depending on where you are means lower prices.... i'm from canada and our dollars felt like rotten leaf at fall. it was at parity with the us$. wich means that an ms-20 that sold for 2000$us last year is the same price for me then now at 1500-1600us$... the dollar was at .77 last week... i think tha...

i would suggest that you look at black lion audio. they could mod you digi002r. look at gear slutz for review, they do great stuff. paramount pictures usses one of them to records classic ensemble. i did ordered a adc fro them and it sounds great, even improve the sound quality of my audio interface...

from your list an advantage of the s5000/s6000 is that it runs with fat32 drive, that means that you can have an flash card reader for it and use the card almost anywhere. very handy to back up also. price wise you could also get the usb card to connect directly into you computer. for decent filters...

audible: when you say that you use it as a squetch pad. do you take the sequence you did and transfer it thru midi into your pc, or you start all over again? the monome shure is more user friendly, more apps available... but you still have a computer to get along with. and that's what turns me off a...

you can sample at 4 khz with the s612 as well, you just have to press c2 (36) prior to record. if i remember well you got more then one s612, you could resample between then.
