Re: Here We Discuss Brian Eno's Use of Vintage Synths

As has been stated earlier in this thread, much of Eno's sound and genius comes from his ability to use effects and processing to make incredible timbres and soundscapes. Back in the 70s he called this "Enossification", like in the credits to the Genesis album "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway". He co...

Just do this.
I have no idea what this guy is doing (triggering glitch FX and some samples/parts via MIDI?) but that track is bad a*s. Thanks!

Deep Field - Andromeda, Mopho, ATC-x, Alchemy

http://www.jimalfredson.com/pub/mp3s/Deep%20Field.mp3 This is a track I've been working on for a few months. Initially I was going to just scrap because it was kind of dull, it but something kept pulling me back to it. The idea started with the Andromeda, which is doing strings, the main drum track...

Re: Yamaha Motif ES Electric Piano Patch

I agree that the Motif can do "synthy" sounds quite well, including some very nice pads and leads. However, it doesn't replace a synth like the SY77. If there's any way to keep the SY77 and get a Motif, too, that's what I'd do. In fact, I'm slowly saving up for a Motif XF. That's my next synth, for ...

Re: Yamaha Motif ES Electric Piano Patch

I would definitely not sell the SY77 to get a Motif, but the two would compliment each other well.

Re: Yamaha Motif ES Electric Piano Patch

1. Yes, the ES rack has the same sounds as the ES keyboard. There's no sampling option in any of the Motif racks, which is a drag.

2. I drive my ES rack from my SY77 all the time. Works fine.

Downloaded illformed's glitch last night. Fun to play with; very easy to over-use. Gotta be careful with this one. :)

Re: After much reading I have a few questions for you

The PX330 is a very nice digital piano. It doesn't have a ton of controller features, but as long as you don't need to transmit multiple zones or MIDI channels, you're fine. If you do, may I suggest the PX-3? No speakers, but it has much better MIDI master capabilities and the sounds have a lot more...

Re: Vangelis "The Bounty" re-recording..?

The re-make clips have none of the majesty or depth of Vangelis. I agree; why can't we just get the original soundtrack?
