Mopho Keyboard - Fun with arppegiators!
A couple of tunes just playing with my new Mopho (keyboard)'s arppegiator. The first cut features five tracks of Mopho, some XM2 (Hammond-Suzuki clonewheel module) through a Ventilator (Leslie sim) and copious amounts of reverb from my trusty Lexicon MX-300. http://www.organissimo.org/pub/mp3s/refle...

Re: Seeking Wisdom from Older Synth Masters!
I'm into mostly new-wave/80's type music, but a main interest of mine is ambient/chill-out music. I'm in the process of writing and would love a synth to play with sounds and get some nice, cool-vibe sounds going. I'm working on a budget here. If I can spend under $700/$800 (AUD) that'd be preferab...

Re: Poll: Who's the best synth manufacturer.
i vote OBERHEIM because they have been the most consistent But less than half the votes of Yamaha? Yammie sure are resting on their laurels. ...besides the DX and CS-range I can't think of anything very interesting they've made since then. An-1x and RS7k was pretty cool, but it wasn't for me. SY77,...

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?
Thank you. Yeah, that sound on the first track is a blast to play.
What a great age we live in where manufacturers are making these types of synths again!

Re: How to set up effects processing units
So I'm trying to figure out the most efficient/cost-effective effects processing setup possible (hardware only, no software) and looking for some opinions. I obviously don't want to get a reverb, delay, chorus fx unit for every instrument, but I do want some flexibility. I was wondering what other ...

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?
So I got my Mopho Keyboard last week but have barely had any time to mess with it. Finally carved some hours out today and made a couple short tunes, just experimenting with the features. The first is all multi-tracked Mopho save for the groove (which is from Groove Agent 3). The reverb-effected sna...

Re: DSI MEK/Mopho = Pro One, PEK/P08 = Prophet 5, Prophet VS
The Yamaha SY77, which was released in 1989, has resonant filters that sound killer. I posted this sample in another thread of some patches I'm creating with the SY77 based on the Studio Electronics ATC-x. This is the SY77 and it's filters in their unabashed, un-FX'd glory. :) http://www.organissimo...

Re: DSI MEK/Mopho = Pro One, PEK/P08 = Prophet 5, Prophet VS
It would indeed be cool if Dave Smith went back to vector synthesis eventually. I just picked up the Mopho Keyboard and I'm having a blast with it. It augments my Voyager perfectly. Can't wait to grab a Tetra for some polyphony. The biggest oversight in the Wavestation is the lack of resonant filter...

The Mopho is one voice of the Tetra. They are exactly the same except the Mopho is monophonic.
My plan is to pair a Tetra with the Mopho keyboard I just got. 5 voice analog poly!

Don't know the AX-60, sorry. But some of the sounds of the Mopho reminded me of the 8bit SID chip from the Commodore 64.

Here's another question... can the Mopho do a random LFO pattern like the AX? Yes. Got my Mopho Keyboard yesterday. Haven't had too much of a chance to dig in, but my initial impression is that it is a nice compliment to the smooth sounds of the Voyager. The Mopho is very aggressive. I'm sure it ca...

Re: Mixer?
The Behringer powered PA speakers are actually not bad if you don't push them. Start to push them and they really show their suckage. I prefer Yorkville powered speakers over any other I've heard, including the Mackies (which I loathe), the JBL Eons, and the Yamahas. From what I've read, the QSC's a...

Re: ALL synths will eventually become vintage for somebody
I think that the Roland D50 and the Yamaha SY77/TG77/SY99 might be future classics. No one has yet fully exploited the possibilities of the SY range. Agreed. And the JD-800 / 990 as already mentioned in this thread. And the venerable FS1r. I think the big digital powerhouse workstation synths of th...

Re: mopho keyboard vs moog lp stage 2
For your first analog keyboard, I'd vote for the Mopho, only because you can later expand it with a Tetra or Prophet 08 module and get a true analog polyphonic synth. That's pretty bad-ass.
I love the Little Phatty, though. It sounds awesome.
