Re: "Potentiometers" on new DSI synths - *Rant Warning!*

OP - do not confuse the oscillators with the filters. They're completely independent. B3groover is not entirely correct. MIDI (developed by Dave Smith of DSI!) allows for more than 128 steps of resolution for controls and parameters via NRPNs and other means. The Alesis Ion, for example, uses MIDI ...

Re: "Potentiometers" on new DSI synths - *Rant Warning!*

It's due to the limitation of MIDI, a protocol which was developed in the late 70s / early 80s and is hampered by its resolution. There is only a maximum of 128 values for any controller within the MIDI protocol. Any device using MIDI has to adhere to the protocol, so that's why you're hearing stepp...

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?

With the renewed popularity of analog synthesis, if a company could make a real analog poly for less than what DSI is doing now, they would.

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no audio input on the P08 is there? The MophoKey and Tetra have the output normaled to the input jack, hence feedback. That's important.

Re: Mopho keyboard shipping?

My plan is to get the Mopho keyboard and the Tetra and have myself a nice little analog five voice. How cool would that be? Way cool.

Re: Mixer?

Don't buy Behringer. It's not worth it. Really.

Look into Yamaha's MG line. Great sounding mixers, lots of routing options, not very expensive.

Seriously, what's wrong with those options? Just a few years ago NOBODY was making an analog poly synth.

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

280500790828 YC-45d's have been going for between $1000 and $1200 on eBay lately. And that's for examples that are in MINT condition. This guy is asking $1500 BUY IT NOW for one that, as he says in his description, was gigged on weekends for "a few years", has all sorts of problems, scratches on th...
