Re: FM8 remixes
Very nice work! Clair de Lune is one of my favorites. I still think Tomita's version is one of the best. He really takes his time and plays it very subtlety, stretching the tempo. I like your "Bladerunner"-esque approach, though! :) I'm really starting to get deep into FM synthesis. It's been very e...

Re: Yamaha FS1R
Yeah, I discovered that last night after my post when I went to start to re-create a couple sounds. The lack of assignable feedbacks quickly put an end to that!

Re: Yamaha FS1R
Interesting side note (to me, anyway): One of the patches on the FS1R is called "Earth Lead" and must be the basis for a patch of the same name on the Motif series. I haven't had the chance to check my Motif ES rack, but I'm guessing Yamaha sampled the waveform created via FM on the FS1R for the ver...

Re: I've just got Yamaha Electone D85
Whenever I see those three manuals I have this same feeling again: would stage musicians (gigging everywhere) be served with a masterkeyboard or even a modern synth with two or three manuals? It'd look like an organ, but it wouldn't be one.. or would it? Dunno, grey area. Or would that be like 'ooh...

Re: I've just got Yamaha Electone D85
Yamaha kind of did that. I'd love to find one of these:

They did. I have one.stikygum wrote:I like the orange (below) better and don't know why they didn't produce that one, it's so much better looking.
ATC-x. Thinking about upgrading to the ATC-xi, but keeping the orange face.

Re: Yamaha FS1R
I may open a Soundcloud account. I'm not sure what to do with all these tunes I've been making lately... getting back to my synth roots, I guess.

Re: Yamaha FS1R
I just purchased a FS1R from fellow forum member VanSonik. Wow. At first I was a bit underwhelmed; the pads were nice but there wasn't enough difference between my other synths, with the exception of some of the vocal formant based sounds. But then I downloaded the free editor and started assigning ...

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread
Just sold my FS1r to B3groover in person. Jim is a great guy polite and showed up on time. Nice to know a nice guy got a great deal on a great synth. Hope you enjoy it. I'm sure you will. Regards, Kevin Always nice to meet someone in person! Been foolin' around with the FS1r all night. Wild synth.....

Re: SY-77 vs DX-7IIFD
You can't really program a moogerfooger to change on a per-patch basis, can you? That's the nice thing about the onboard filter; it is programmable with it's own EG and various mod sources. The keys on the SY77 are really nice. I think it is the same action as the DX7/DX7IId. At least it feels that ...

Re: How to make analog synthesizer sounds like C64?
Cool. Between the four machines, I should be able to keep one as a music computer with dual SIDS and the other as a gaming machine.

Re: How to make analog synthesizer sounds like C64?
Very cool, thanks for that. Stupid question I can't seem to find the answer for: Is the MSSIAH compatible with the C128 in C64 mode?

Re: How to make analog synthesizer sounds like C64?
So I just won a lot of Commodore stuff on craigslist. 2 C64s, 2 C128s, and a bunch of other stuff. My plan is to make one computer a gaming machine and one a machine for music using the MSSIAH cartridge. The two C64s are the old style and I'm assuming they have the original 6581 SID chips in them (I...
