Re: MacBeth M5 Synthsizers
I believe you are correct. I was looking for a 'polarity' switch but there wasn't one that I could see. However, it is the first time I was able to trigger the ADSR from anything, which I think is hopeful to working this issue out. Man, I hope I can get it going soon as I'm itching to compose with i...

Re: MacBeth M5 Synthsizers
I did get the Yamaha CS 40M to trigger the ADSR but only backwards. In other words, when I release the keys a note sounds, but when pressed, no trigger to ADSR and no note.
Back at it...

Re: MacBeth M5 Synthsizers
sounds like you have the knob in the upper right of the synth above the master volume turned on, it should be set to zero all the way left. if it's on at all then you are opening/turning on the vca just like on many synths you can drone or open the vca. I think that knob is called initial gain when...

Re: MacBeth M5 Synthsizers
Obvious question, but have you downloaded and read the MP-201 manual? Also have you got a separate lead for trigger/gate going into the trig input? If you don't that might explain the lack of envelopes triggering. Yes I did and have been trying to figure out if it's a M5 or MP issue. I have hard co...

Re: MacBeth M5 Synthsizers
that is weird you mean the vcf input on the sh1000 isn't sending proper cv gate? I mean maybe you should try hooking up an iphone to it and typing the words cv gate... that should work...   Honestly I would bet you're just not setting this up right. Hope you get her working though.....

Re: Roland Gaia
Getting off topic...back to the OP. Again, what Roland did you have a bad experience with? When you say "more modern" what are you looking to add to what your existing gear does for you? The Roland Juno D, I spent 500 on it, and everything worked good until my first show when keys started going out...

Re: Roland Gaia
I've been thinking about getting into more modern synthesizers and I've been watching a lot of videos and demos, but I wanted to ask what's your 5 cents on the Roland Gaia? I personally think it's nifty but I tend to play a lot of bar shows and I was wondering if it could hold up since my Last Rola...

Re: MacBeth M5 Synthsizers
first the cs-40m doesn't use standard cv/gate I believe it's trig so you can forget that test, second you have to have the oscillator's keyboard cv slider turned all the way up on all three oscs. if you have them centered at zero you'll get nothing, third if you have them turned down all the way th...

Re: MacBeth M5 Synthsizers
So the fun with the MacBeth continues... After trying every which way but sunday, I can't get the M5 to be triggered by an external keyboard. I'm sure I'm doing it right. I have a Moog multi pedal set to Midi to CV. The pedal is plugged into the CV in and gate to the M5 and a Korg Prophecy set to mi...

Re: MacBeth M5 Synthsizers
So I took the back panel off, retrieved the loose nut from the rubber foot, reattached it, screwed it back on, screwed the back panel back up, bought a hotel type mahogany table (one with plugs on the side) from a surplus store, put the M5 on the table and dislodged the rubber foot again. So how was...

Re: MacBeth M5 Synthsizers
It's got some meaty sounds, but not for me (I don't think). Thanks for the suggestion. Going to Staples to get a low table with rollers today. I accidently dislodged a rubber er, foot by sliding it on a carpet. Now I have to reattach that by undoing the back panel and getting the nut and rescrewing ...

Re: MacBeth M5 Synthsizers
I don't think you're the first, and surely you won't be the last musician who bought something on impulse and regretted it once you got it home. I know this story oh so well. :) thank-you. that's what makes us human too. Usually, within minutes of owning something, I can tell if it's a keeper. The ...
