Re: Performing Live
What would you like to know? Most of my gigs are benefits... I'm just curious as to how you use your MC-505: what style(s) of music you perform, what are the circumstances, etc. Nice 'n' compact setup, you know? I've since moved on to an MC-909, but I've had a couple of 505's and loved them. They'r...

Re: Performing Live
On my guerrilla gigs I simply use a Korg Prophecy and a Roland MC 505 (with original beats etc). It takes 15 minutes to set up and 5 minutes to tear down. I only require two direct boxes and a mike. If I'm playing a bigger gig, I'll add my Moog Theremin (extra direct box). There was a time I used a ...

Re: Quality or Quantity?
Sometimes quantity is not quality and vice versa. In my unused music gear 'closet' lies: 1. Yamaha CS 40 M 2. ARP Explorer 3. Yamaha SK 10 4. Yamaha DX 100 5. Roland Octapad 1 6. Yamaha WX 7 7. Roland SH 1000 8. Roland TR 505 9. Boss DR 110 10. various misc stuff like a 4 track cassette, guitar... H...

Wrong place for this (help topic maybe), but it has a direct switch on the back (if it's like my KP1) - that might have something to do with it...

Re: Earliest Minimoog recordings
Wasn't there an early version of the mini Moog on Abbey Rd. by the Beatles? I thought I read that somewhere...
I know Linda McCartney played one and was fond of the mini Moog.
She does a nice lead on Band On The Run circa 1972 (I think).

[ I came across a video of a guy using his KP3 as a Kaossilator (hooked up to his computer): http://circuitbent.wikispaces.com/Kaossilator And here's a guy using his laptops touchpad the same way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWE2ptQtYk0 Pretty cool! :D I've done a similar thing with my KP 1 and ...

Re: Kaossilator appreciation thread
No sync or midi is THE dealbreaker for me. Imagine using this thing to control midi synths and also vintage ones with a midi/cv converter.... that would be a bloody revolution. Isn't that possible with the KaossPad 3? Yes, sort of, but it doesn't have the Kaossilator programs and loops. It's more o...

Re: Kaossilator appreciation thread
I had one as a demo rental for a month. I found it interesting and somewhat a good time waster. At the time I felt the bang for the buck was lacking because there was no undo ability (except one layer) and lack of midi sync. I hope one with midi sync comes out. The sounds were excellent in quality a...
