Re: Juno-60 odd issue

I don´t think that´s the kind of problem a PSU recap would solve... Here´s a tip for your tech, hoping will be of some use: The DCO is SAW core, from which SQUARE is derived. One will affect the other. On a DCO, CV is used to set the amplitude of the core wave across the keyboard, instead of pitch. ...

Re: D550 s/h buffer opamp replacement

Since the noise can be heard being affected by the chorus, the reverb chip has got to be the offending part.
Here´s the last chance to fix that synth. Good luck!

Re: Juno 106 Sawtooth PROBLEM

What about the voltage across the resistor. It should be +5 with saw off and zero with saw on. If so, then its a broken trace. Also turn saw on and read the voltage at pin 12. If it reads the opppsite, +5 with saw on and zero with saw off, the ic is fine. If it doesnt read anything, verify the rest ...

Re: D550 s/h buffer opamp replacement

It´s holding patch nr 26 and ENTER while powering up, to be correct. So I did the experiment and not only there was no added noise, the reverb settings 17~32 were all there as well before and after procedure. No difference whatsoever. Bummer :geek:

Re: Juno 106 Sawtooth PROBLEM

Turn saw off, locate r148 and tr24 in the bottom right corner of the module board, and read the voltage across the resistor. Normally it is +5vdc. If it reads zero volts its probably bad tr24. If it reads +5 then its probablu a broken connection between r148 and the wave ics.

Re: D550 s/h buffer opamp replacement

Thank you Rasputin and a big hello to the rest of the team. Good to be back although I can´t participate as actively anymore. That reverb thing is indeed curious. And apparently there´s some mention of it in the service manual. Upon reading the other thread I immediately remembered about this stubbo...

Re: D550 s/h buffer opamp replacement

Was reading a thread on gearslutz called d50 tips and tricks I think. On page 11 theres mention of a possible reason for that noise problem. Im typing on the phone and cant explain it better. Basically it happens after replacing the battery. the solution is to load the pn00 bank and then powering up...

Re: Oberheim Matrix 6 Troubleshooting

http://www.cedos.com/datasheets/cem3396pdf.pdf on page 8 under Waveform Selection: if converter A is osc1 and converter B is osc2, then for both oscs to be "off" the voltage at pin 6 must be between +0.5 and +2. If a value between -1.5 and +0.5V reaches the CEMs osc1 turns off while osc2 remains on!...

Re: 1959 Blonder-Tongue Audio-Batons Resurrected..

Well, you posted those audio examples as a self-contained musical pieces and they sound quite nice, but for demonstration purposes I think it´s best to show what the clean signal sounds like first, so we can have a better idea of what that unit really does :)

Re: Oberheim Matrix 6 Troubleshooting

So the problem here is not a matter of VCA leakage, it´s with oscillator 2 still sounding when set to off! I must have mixed up both threads. Sorry for the inconveniance! There is a balance control in the CEM3396 that crossfades the DCOs. You will notice that on the datasheet. I think the MUX that c...

Re: Korg DW8000 not working, please help.

If every voltage point checks out, you may have to start searching for a new CPU. The block diagram and the video you posted seem to suggest this. With the service manual and the datasheet for IC35 at hand, checking the pulse trains with a logic probe at the input and output ports should confirm it....

Re: 1959 Blonder-Tongue Audio-Batons Resurrected..

That certainly dirties up the sound. Something The Boads Of Canada would use to good effect. It also reminds of the UFO arrival scene sound FX in The Day The Earth Stood Still from 1951. Seems to evoque that kind of old atmosphere... An opamp version of that equalizer, how different would it be from...
