Re: New analog boxes from Korg?
appears they're a bit larger in size (good thing!) than the impression just images give.

more details and all the pics @ CDM http://createdigitalmusic.com/2013/04/150-korg-volca-analog-synth-bass-drum-grooveboxes-with-midi-official-details-pics I notice that the individual sounds on the volca beats don't have volume pots, but there is a 'Part Level' control.. edit: ahah.. there is a par...

mfb makes well priced and overfeatured mono with extensive semi-modular options = vse complains
any time anyone makes anything new = vse points out its not poly

Don't jump the gun so quickly. Walter didn't bite on anything, he actually asked a decent question that stemmed from a bad joke..that's all. I see no one trolling here except the tekken post in the first place.

Re: thoughts on the rocket vs monotribe
This is the naive me asking the question...what synth(s) has VCOs and digital filter and amp sections (would that be DCF and DCA)? No, DCF and DCA would entail a digitally controlled/clocked analogue component.. like DCO does. A DCO is still in the analogue domain. Only things I can think of that h...

Re: thoughts on the rocket vs monotribe
it is clear to me that the waldorf rocket's shape factor and even hardware (switches etc.) invites comparison with the monotribe. I should have steered clear of this one... From what I understand about the lead up to time (R&D) and all the assembling of facilities, it would seem any synth dropping ...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
It seems logical that they would reissue the Mono/Poly next. That or the Polysix... Not sure why I don't own a Mono/Poly. One of the coolest synths ever in my opinion. I think it would make sense for them to reissue the MS-10 as well. The Why Not part: 2nd hand prices on the Mono/Poly the past 5+ y...

Re: ISO Minisoftmusik Extractor
whatever you found is not legit and is probably not safe to have on your computer. download the original dll: http://web.archive.org/web/20120511031959/http://wd81p901z.homepage.t-online.de/Php/download.php?Val=22 fwiw.. the ui is pretty buggy and doesn't update properly when switching presets. prob...

Re: New Musical Instrument of Gimmicky Keyboard?
like the continuum, this is something that will appeal to a very small group of players who will rave about it. I hate it when people use words like "new instrument" when it clearly is nothing of the sort. whenever something like this pops up i'm reminded of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v...

Re: CS1x inside the Yamaha DJX ?
It matters little what is inside the DJX since there's no way to edit it. The only "programming" on a DJX is setting up splits and layers and setting up the effects. This is incorrect. You can't modify the waveforms outside of selecting one from the preset list, but you can control pitch, lfo (sort...

Re: When did arpeggiators start showing up?
I knew of Stockhausen and Xenakis when I was like 15 years old thanks to a middle school BAND teacher.. there is absolutely nothing obscure about Stockhausen as a person in music. Depending where in the world you are, Stockhausen's name can be just as recognized as Mozart. Fact of the matter is, it ...

Re: When did arpeggiators start showing up?
OK, but who the f**k has ever heard of Raymond Scott, Donald Buchla, and Wendy Carlos?!? Are you saying that bands like Human League and Duran Duran were influenced by those people? I doubt it. Who has heard of them? Are you *'ing kidding me? As for the question if 2 80's synthpop band...

Re: Mini-synth
definitely dont get the micron as a first synth. It is DEEP and most of the good stuff really takes place in the software editor, which can be just as confusing to a person new to synths as the front panel can be to an experienced user. I second the idea of a minibrute... can't get much more straig...
