Re: Roland JX-3P Owners
yep that's correct. its awesome regardless ;) i sync mine up all the time using my mobius ... not that you need a mobius, there are plenty of cheaper ways to do it,.. you can even use a short sample and an audio out from your computer or sampler to trigger it. in fact, someone here @ VSE recorded th...

Re: Roland JX-3P Owners
that's correct.. the sequencer does not send out midi. if you want to use the 3p's sequencer in a midi enviroment, you would write your part out on the jx3p and then trigger/sync the sequencer va a midi2cv setup. the sequencer cannot be used to control other devices.. (which is a shame because a sim...

Evolver Editor Updates
Soundtower released an update September 25th to their Evolver editors, but they took away the message that said VST support will be added in April/March 2009 and there's no VST editor included in the update. Bah on them. http://www.soundtower.com/evolver/ Psicraft posted on Oct 1st that the updated/...

Re: MKS-30 Questions...
ok, i figured out one test mode.. which is rotating voice test and not quite as good for testing the voices. you hold 1 and 3 while powering up. But I'm pretty sure theres a non-rotating voice test.. but i cant sort it.
As for the order of the chips on the board, iirc.. the board is labeled.

MKS-30 Questions...
I've repaired my MKS-30 many times the past 4 years or so.. replacing 80017a's.. Anyways, I'm getting ready to replace a couple again (actually, first im going to try the new method of removing the covering before i buy replacements) but the oddest damn thing.. I've forgotten everything! I can't rem...

Re: The Synth Only Drum Kit Challenge!
Mute; I really like your snare, how did you program that? Is it mostly the reverb giving it that Fine Young Cannibals like sound? yeah, i'd attribute that to the verb/eq really because on that DEP-5 fx patch, I had just a little bit of chorus turned up, I initially was doing it with the jx3p's chor...

i did add a little fx; it's run through a Roland DEP-5 (same era) for some slight gated reverb.. (cause it sounds so sweet)

Re: I really want an early 80's Roland poly. Suggestions?
I also like the JX-3P - I've never had one but used to play with one a lot that a friend had. There are some good PC based editors available for this little gem. If you find a PG-200 that would be a really nice setup. Just wanted to straigten this out.. there are no editors the JX-3P because the 3P...

Who say's it has a bad rap? The MS2K generally gets good chunk of respect as a V/A.. even around here, possibly the toughest crowd out there regarding V/A's.

Re: Korg Micro Sampler
100% agree. I appreciate and utilize USB when its available, but the total removal of MIDI ports is obnoxious as h**l. I can understand it with the Nanos, but it should more or less stop there.supermel74 wrote:Honestly, if all of this supposed gear doesn't have midi in/out they can shove it back up their a*s.

Re: NEW DSI Tetr4 -4 voices of Mopho In a Box!
i think the dsi design is rather slick, much better than the mopho and while i dont think the evolver desktop is bad looking and i really really like the matrix editor on it much more than assignable editing, purple and blue is kinda bleh.
