The sounds on that clip sound so ridiculously good it's not even funny.

Re: An 80s Inspired Disco Groove
I like this. It can be hard to come up with 80s style instrumentals that manage to keep up the listener's interest all throughout the track. The bridge here does the trick. I love it that you've proven how great free software like the Synth1 and the mighty freeverb can sound. Now that I think about ...

Re: what's your take on modding gear?
It's okay on gear like the Poly-800, because there's plenty of those around in their original shape as well. But most vintage synths should be left as they are. Then of course there are also the regrettable paint jobs - like a camouflage patterned Yamaha CS20m that someone tried to sell over here re...

Re: So long Voyager Old School
The funny part about the patch memory on the other Voyagers is that many of the more complex ones sound different each day depending on the slight variations on the tuning. It doesn't really affect the basic leads and basses of course. My Voyager's currently horribly out of tune due to humidity / te...

Re: Your thoughts about rompler synthesis
I'm sorry, I meant all synths are equal. Also, it doesn't matter what you have, but how you use it . On a more serious note: Most of the ROMplers I've used have had an extensive list of editing options - it's just that they contribute very little to the sound. My own 1990s Ensoniq board has hilariou...

Re: Your thoughts about rompler synthesis
Again, this is such a ridiculous conversation. 99% of the people out there who own synths, of ANY sort, use them as "preset playback machines." Well, that's a highly exaggerated percentage you have there. Unless of course you are referring also to individuals who might use a preset every now and th...
