Re: Synths and radiators
Sorry, I have no idea. All I know is that when the humidity changes considerably inside the apartment, the synths start having calibration problems. It happens when the radiators dry up the place and when the snow starts melting outside in the spring and that will increase the humidity rate (the wal...

Not caring about the Lucky Man lead is just pure ignorance.
... okay, to be honest it's a terrible sound.

Re: Rhodes chroma - feedback
Well, the Chroma Polaris certainly isn't the most beautiful polysynth ever.mome rath wrote: Anyway, this was about the Chroma (the most beautiful analog polysynth ever), not the Polaris.

Oberheim sounds probably more like a beer company to those who don't know what it is.

Re: Synths and radiators
The only trouble with radiators I've had concerns the room humidity. When the temperature outside drops during the winter, the radiators get very hot. That dries up the air inside very efficiently. As a result, my analog gear will constantly drift out of tune.

Re: Happy 1st April from Moog
I'm going to be the first asshole and say that perhaps the Moog synths currently in production could benefit from this type of a circuit.

When it's an April Fool's joke by MOOG it deserves multiple threads. That's how awesome Moog Inc. is.

Re: Roland SH01
It seems to be around 550-650 euros in Europe. On a positive note, that thing seems to be relatively feature-rich for the price. Over the last decade, you just got the impression that the manufacturers used to keep the features rather minimal on their cheaper units so that they could sell the more e...

Re: New Roland and/or Korg synths using REAL analog filters?
As it is, I could see myself being interested only in a new polyphonic analog by a company like Korg. There's already plenty of modern analog monosynths around. So something based around PolySix / Trident could get my attention.

Good point. It might have been also a more prevailing view in the States than in Europe (or in Japan, for that matter).boxed wrote: Maybe its because in the 70's Japanese products were just generally regarded as 'cheap'.

As far as I know, my sentence didn't include just the reference to the SH-1000.
