Re: TX81Z
Thanks a lot; I'm going to have to figure out some of this software, I guess.
TX81Z
My dad recently gave me his old Yamaha TX81Z. I've figured it out, mostly, but I still haven't demystified the MIDI implementation on it yet. Is there anyone who can tell me how to assign the parameters to knobs on an external controller? I have a Roland MC307 connected to it right now, and I can se...

Update
Well, it seems I may have solved my own problem. I reloaded OS 4.9 T to my Indigo, and it seems that it did the trick. It was very strange, though- when I first reloaded, all the defects were still there. Then, after about 5 more minutes of messing around, it just snapped and everything was fine all...

Indigo with problems
Hello, everyone- I recently purchased an Access Virus Indigo from a seller on Ebay. It was listed in "excellent condition", and the seller's ratings were great. So, in such a good mood was I, I did not bother to grill him on the technicalities of its condition... this has always been my procedure wh...

Re: Indigo
I do have a laptop that could possibly be integrated into the mix some time on down the line. But right now I'm focusing on streamlining my setup, so I can have a set playable only with actual boards and the 307. My laptop is a dinosaur, and I fear bringing it out of the house. My ideal situation wo...

Re: Indigo
I just have a Midisport 2x2. I've heard the same, that going thru more than one instrument is not good for performance. But I'll give it a try. I'm sure it will be fine with just the two Viruses. I'll try it with my MS2000 on board too. See what happens.

What are you using to route your MIDI from the groovebox? I have a little m-audio box, but I'm wondering if I should upgrade for maximum results.

Re: Indigo
Thanks a lot for the input, everyone. I am pretty excited to get into some crunchy ring mod beats with this thing. I like the ring mod on the MS2000, but as is often the complaint with that board, it's a little bit too sterile for my liking. Access just seems to have this warm, organic texture that ...

Indigo
Well, I just invested in an Access Virus Indigo, the original version. I found it on eBay for $700, and while not exactly pocket change, I believe, from what I have seen in the recent past, that this was a pretty good deal. The board looks excellent, and the seller has perfect ratings. So, I'm happy...

Wow. Thanks a lot for that link! It'll take me a while to digest all of the information, but this is just about exactly what I was looking for.

Vocal Modelling
Hello. I am interested in modelling vocal phrases on synthesizers. I am not so much interested in using vocoders as I am interested in creating unique, abstract consonant and vowel sounds through synthesis. For example, my current study involves the MS2000's vox wave. I'm filtering it with the bandp...
