Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
Indeed, and you don't need to waste an extra cable to do it here :) The big three don't really want to innovate, because the masses are only clamouring for "classic remakes", so Dave Smith is happy churning out remakes of Prophets with other names. And Moog is happy rereleasing legendary bass synth...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
The lack of program memory and MIDI control (again, areas where DSI pwns) is retro. So, yeah it is the "real thing", but it's still a throwback. I have no problem with that, I only have a problem calling it innovative to turn back the clock 30 years. ok I agree calling it innovative is a bit going ...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
volumetrik, There's nothing innovative about the MiniBrute other than the Metalizer (maybe). It's got better mod routings than 70s monos (a good thing) but nothing compared to what DSI offers. It's as retro as you can get, not that there is anything wrong with that. The Steiner filter and all the O...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
imho, I think this is really a great synth. if you compare this to the mopho keyboard... the mopho seems like DSI wanted to make something robust and affordable. but this is like they were inspired to make a great analog synth, not just putting togther 2 osc and a filter, but looking back to the pas...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
I thought I remembered read, Arturia claimed the low price was possible due to the fact that they planned such a large 1st production run. I guess it was not nearly large enough. unlikely, on some french forum it was mentioned by Yves Usson that the initial production run was going to be 1000 and t...

Workstation/keyboard market: Digital piano & drums market: Analog Synth Remake Market: Sorry to bring this up again. But you forgot to mention GAIA SH-01.. and the GAIA SH-01 market is not as big as thoes markets you mentioned. that means Roland doesn't only go for things that can sell them a ton o...

ok, so what does it take for you to acknowledge success for an analog mono? just interested to hear your opinion.Bitexion wrote:Right, it is a bit far fetched to point at MB as a proof that analog monos are a great success, because it hasn't been released anywhere yet.

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
Oh, I'm not saying there isn't a market for analog oscillators and filters. Of course there is. Arturia didn't clone an existing synth though, they made their own spin on it. I just don't think the engineers want to go back to old glories and just remake them. Roland is probably so satisfied with t...
