Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
See a pattern? Roland won't make a Jupiter-8 remake, or Sh-101 remake for that very reason. They don't dwell in the past, trying to cater for a small, but vocal amount of vintage enthusiasts. ok but just keep MiniBrute in mind when you say all this, the response has been great, there are huge amoun...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
I'm here to tell you that no one wanted an SH-101 after the DX7 came out), the $495 price tag was laughable... it could only play one note at a time. It was not sought-after. It was a limited old-fashioned synth. The only thing that saved it from its fate of being an indifferent but still analog sy...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
Final questions for you volumetrik: Are you going to be posting a lot more here? Rather than over at Gearslutz where people started calling you a troll, after they got fed up of you? Here's hoping... 2 people called me a troll in a circuit bended 606 thread. By your logic if anyone disag...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
My guess would be, more like $750, if built in Japan. And the sound would be different largely because of the use of SMT. (more prone to interference because of the smaller and closer together traces) (And the Minibrute likely IS made in China, but may be... 'assembled' in Europe) fair enough. also...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
Also consider the fact that it had some cutting-edge technology on board at the time; namely a CPU with a digital sequencer/arpeggiator, digital keyboard scanning, key transpose etc.... things we all take for granted today. ok but its just, you have to take all the parts and break it down, a part b...

so a SH-101 would be that much if you tried to make it today?Sexor wrote:Inflation corrected to precisely $1176 in 2012 dollars.volumetrik wrote:SH-101 original retail price was $495...and this thing is metal and has way more features, I wonder how much a SH-101 remake would be..

Re: Oberheim SEM Patchpanel oscillator noise when idle
Do you have both VCO1 and VCO2 saw/pulse mix pots totally off (in center position)? when they are in center position, there is no noise but as you turn them the noise appears and you can hear it more as you turn it to the max btw thanks for the help every1 OK so if by "noise" you mean the sound of ...

Oberheim SEM Patchpanel oscillator noise when idle
hey
I noticed that when my SEM is idle you can hear this very faint oscillator noise and if you turn up the mixer or monitors you can hear it more, is this ok?
cheers

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
This is a well-built synth. This thing makes the knobs on a vintage Korg feel like the s**t they are. I expected a Technics SY-1010, but I got something heavy with heft and solid knobs and sliders. This is not a cheap piece of c**p. It has better feel than a lot of vintage synths you'd pay FAR more...
