Re: Name some underrated/hated synths that you like

JX-3P #1 !!

CZ-1
SY77
V-Synth (This one is more misunderstood than under-rated).
MS2000! Got character and balls , unlike most VAs I've ever tried!

I've never hated any of those myself, in fact I love them all!

Re: The history and making of "19" (Paul Hardcastle)

There's an alpha juno on this isn't there?? on the shiny bell like lead IIRC (or at least I made a patch on mine that sounded exactly like it and PH had a JU-2 and was shown playing it on TOTP to 19 - not sure if just for show)

Re: The 10 greatest synthesizers of all time

V-synth should be in there (probably in place of JD-800 imo)

Re: Why the V-Synth is the best thing Roland ever did

I just remembered my first impressions of V-Synth when i first tried one in the store, i did not like the sound at all, but was seriously impressed with the interface. Later ver2 was introduced and i heard some better sounds. Seriously I doubt anyone would be impressed with an in store demo, you ne...

Re: analog poly

I am considering an ax80, they seem cheap price wise, and they look cool spec wise. They are not that good sadly. I had one and loved it for a few weeks and yes it looks impressive but it's sound just isn't there. It's ok for bass, great in fact, but not a very smooth or playable synth. Very bitty ...

Re: JD-800 vs V-Synth

I think the JD800 is very poor. Apart from the sliders, which to be honest I never found to be as quick to use as I would hope, it really is a poor synth. Not as nice sounding as a D50. I see no reason to buy one. I was very disappointed by it, the JD990 is another beast altogether however, very po...

Roland need to keep boring rompler workstations far away from beautiful sound engineering instruments like the V-Synth! :D

Re: JX-80 and PG-800 connection problem?

I guess the JX-80 is that rare 60 note polyphonic that we thought was just a rumour :D

First thing is always to try another cable. Just a standard midi one the PG-800 (unlike the PG-200) IIRC. Also make sure it's in the right socket (not the MIDI socket).

Re: JD-800 vs V-Synth

@ Pro5: Do you know if the V-Synth librarian works with Windows 8? I've had no luck setting it up so far. Maybe there are alternative softwares? I'm on windows 7 where it works fine, sorry can't answer about 8. Ok, thanks. Dang, I bitterly regret installing Winndows 8. The whole thing is a mess, an...
