Re: Restructuring my setup

just an honest opinion. Man, sit on a chair in front of your synths, and look at them on a different way. I'm just trying to give you a different perspective and not going to tell you exactly what you want to hear, but sometimes who needs a change is the musician and not the gear. with those machine...

Re: Which sampler for analogue synth drum sounds?

FILL YOUR SAMPLER WITH DECENT SAMPLES A good selection, a good sound quality, and a nice variety on the sample spectrum, are vital to end with a nice sound. that's what I love from sampling. You are almost 100% responsible of how the stuff will sound. With process like resampling layering different ...

Re: V synth vs V synth GT

The all important synthesis knobs are cut down in number (10 in all missing from the original), so this means more menu diving for even basic sound programming. Yeah that's one of my biggest concerns. My biggest complain about the V synth is precisely multitimbre, limitations of 2 oscillators/sampl...

Re: The first thing you sampled

a burp on a CASIO SK-1 on my high school days

I don't know how much times this toy was used to sample burps, I can bet it was used also for farting. Maybe millions of times

So if you get a second handed one, be sure to give a nice cleanup to the mic

Sinergy is one my biggest reasons to use a hardware setup made of distinctive synths interacting between them.

Re: Juno, Microkorg or Mpk49?

Mke a PRICE narrow search on ebay on synths that fit your budget.
Get those synths that seem interesting to you
Put on google the synth name + vintage explorer
Generally you'll find a description that leads here.

Re: I need a good affordable Vocoder

Yeah vocoder is a feature available on dozens of synths from all ranges. If you want "MR ROBOTO" vocoder, you must $$$$$$$$$$ Roland and Korg have included a vocoder on several models: JP8080, the one available on the SP808 ex sampler is a cool one, 12 var chars, several ways to link stereo, sharp, ...

Re: Juno, Microkorg or Mpk49?

Well that's a good answer. You should try to expand your possibilities, there are lots of gear that can do more and better things than those that you picked here for a similar or even better price, make a engine narrow search to find some basic data, and then come to the BUYER'S GUIDE section if you...

Re: Interesting digital filter sections

Oh man thanks you really clarified me the point that intrigued me since I got the command station and started to deal with its filter section: the third axis. I mean, I asked to Aaron Appolito (the programmer of the command station software) on the Yahoo group, how does Z plane morphing works, and h...

Re: Interesting digital filter sections

I wonder about the different variations of Z plane filters on EMU's protean romplers. 288 filters is crazy. Basically, the modern E-Mu Romplers are pretty similar between them, most of the variations consist on the stored waveforms, making them special for certain types of music. If I have enough wi...

Alesis ION/Micron: So many it's almost impossible to choose from... How much do you have there? I only hear good things from tthe ION. Almost no alliasing, great sound, and now filters. About the Yamaha EX's filters, they are cool but not so innovative. They are almost the same on the Motif. howeve...

Interesting digital filter sections

I didn't include analog ones since all of them are cool  But wich digital synths have the best FILTER sections? I will mention two that I know: V synth: ther are very cool filters that are specially useful to mangle and tweak samples, like the dual filter, 2nd order SideBandFilter, Comb Fil...
