Re: Yamaha - enemies of synthsis!

Uh! what@! Who said that FM synthesis is c**p??? I won't discuss tastes, but FM is one of the best synthesis to make sounds from scratch. FM is beatiful, maybe you haven't dig enough. About Yamaha, don't forget, that a LOT of actual professional synth players, learned keyboards with YAMAHA PSR arran...

Re: Rant about the lack of modern hardware samplers.

had some fun with a friend who presumes to have the best gear of the whole country: Hardware samplers are no longer for me, since I got a lot of soft samplers.... This guy has around 30 synths. Problem: I don't hear them sounding.... I think that refusing to adquire hardware synths, is limiting your...

Re: Did I make a nice trade? Karma/Moss for Ax-60 and D-50

Ex Karma owner and AX60 owner here! Nice deal man. Just for curiosity, what makes you ask to others if you made a good deal after doing it? Peace of mind? je je je je AX 60 is a great analog synth, specially love it for its autotuning, lots of sliders and unison mode. IMO, programming on Karma is a ...

Re: One is not enough!

are those the E4 XT or two diferent models? Some reasons to buy 2 or more of the same kind: 1. first one is damaged in certain way or some hardware controllers are bad, so you need another one. 2. polyphony. 3. Affair/love/synth lust. 4. extreme functionality for your purposes. I remember a lady who...

Re: Why do U like the Electribe ESX1 so much?? TIPS

A tip to save memory... For me, memory is an issue on the ESX1. Forces you to make the samplers shorter. If you consider that a sample around 70,000 or 80,000 length on the ESX is taking too much memory: Assign it to a track inside a pattern Up the pitch to +38, that is a 12 notes escale aprox. Resa...

One is not enough!

Wonder how much people here have bought more than one synth.... I mean, getting the same synth. And why do you decided to have two of them. I know several cases with two Dave Smith's mono Evolvers.... My case: Two E-mu Command Stations. 1. I had 2 ROMS with no use. I don't like the rack version of t...

Re: Question for ESX1 owners re: output bus

Ya, I'm pretty sure the insane feedback loop idea that I had won't work. I guess I'll stick with my original plan. I wish someone would make a sampler with the I/O and routing of the SP808 but with modern sample mangling and sequencing capabilities. I would hit. I really miss the aux in and aux out...

Re: Question for ESX1 owners re: output bus

Can the audio input be routed to the aux outs (outputs 3 and 4)? Yes you can. Select line input track (the last one at the right) Go to patch, scroll down, output bus: 3/4. Also, how easy is it to automate output bus within the pattern? Do you mean, change MAIN to 3/4 and viceversa while playing wi...

Re: V synth vs V synth GT

Problem with V synth's multitimbre is that you cannot play patches assigned to MIDI channels from 2 to 16. It's unbelievable to find a modern VA flag syntth with such huge limitation. Spent several days trying to deal with this problem when I purchased it. You must: 1. Layer them. Assign those chann...

Re: V synth vs V synth GT

Yea that colourful screen is trippy.... BTW, just to mention: touchscreen, is one of the most useful interfaces ever. They are not so expensive! You can get it on a palm, on a nintendo, tons of modern synths would be so easier to manipulate with this feature. how much instruments can you have into o...

Re: Rant about the lack of modern hardware samplers.

I had a Karma and I hated its interface, sold it very soon. haven't tried Tritons with sampler onboard. Modern Fantoms, are very expensive. Roland is crazy. Totally overpriced. MC 909, great and underrated machine. but it does not have variphrase!!!!!! s**t. Only reason I wouldn't adquire one. Kurzwe...

Re: Novachord #346 Inspection & Initial Wakeup

Of course, these recordings don't demonstrate how the device will sound when it is played in a modern context. That's my biggest curiosity. Since I heard about this Novachord, I have heard dozens of World War II documentals , Gone with the Wind, old recordings, etc... It would be really interesting ...
