Re: Most Unreliable, Finicky Digital Synth?
If somebody wants to avoid this f**k problem: forget about the sampler... buy a SCSI expansion, wich was around 180$, and now is very hard to find, and then install a hard disk. FInd a nonflash memory RAMS (where....?) I assume you mean flash memory, as the RAM that the EX5 uses is old stand...

Re: v-synth a good sampler?
it also has some disadvantages: You can layer 16 sounds over the keyboard, but the hardware controllers will work on only one of them. The others will be present, but can't be tweaked, unless you select the keyzone screen, and position yourself over the area that you want to tweak or edit. This is a...

Re: Most Unreliable, Finicky Digital Synth?
I really hope my ex5r doesn't start giving me problems. I spent some time with it last night and holy poop that thing is deep. The level of sound that comes out of that unit really is ridiculous. And I was just messing with rom (awm) sounds ....e The arppegio sequencer is buggy. There are 50 arppeg...

Re: v-synth a good sampler?
There are lots of information about the V synth in previous threads. It's a great synth, not just a sampler. You can create something like your own wavetables with the sampler engine, format each sample one by one and use them along the keyboard with a very acceptable pitch scaling with the variphra...

Re: Most Unreliable, Finicky Digital Synth?
Most American products had build quality issues esp compared to the Japanese Roger Linn went into quite some detail about this ages ago Okey, being harsh is not my intention, but where did you get this information? Reading magazines, other's reviews or by your own experience? I have owned some amer...

Re: AN1x vs Latest Crop of VAs
Actually Roland's V-Synth has incredibly good build quality, the problem isn't that the big companies don't want to make good quality synths, it's that people don't want to pay what it costs to make something that well built. Agree. Almost every function, has its dedicated controller. Functions of ...

Re: Amazing song from end of DUNE - definitely some 80's syn
The Dune's chronicles can't be resumed in only one movie, that's why Dune movie sucked a big time. The movie starts very good, but it rushes a lot the things on the last 30 min. The f**k mistakes on some of the special effects does not bother me too much. But the decaying narrative while the movie p...

Re: Korg Radias or....? recommendations plz
You already have a MS2000 so you should be comfortable with the RADIAS. Or wait for a good oportunity on a V synth. Looking at the gear you have, a Vsynth will be a perfect adition. Radias' sound depends of your programming skills. Btw, Mr. Foshaug is the Radias' Master  http://www.youtube.co...

Re: Need help looking 4 a new synth
700 dol equals to a Roland V Synth.
But I don't know if you can get one in that price today, I got mine on 700 around 4 years ago.
It's an incredible synthesizer. You won't find something more user friendly than the Vsynth, with so much features.

Re: what synth would compliment a JP8000 and an AN1x
Those are good recommendations, but some of them are out of his budget (500-600) like the Jomox or the Elektrons
EMX is a great little synth and very handy for sequencing; but I don't think is trance oriented. It's more for progressive/ house or minimal stuff.

Re: Jp 8000 vs Radais, Little Phatty vs. Evolver MEK
Suddenly the JP8000 is being resurrected on several threads...... Actually I had the JP8080 during several years. I sold it around 18 months. But have been missing a lot a VA desktop for my live performances, so I just adquired a RADIAS. The Radias has 24 poly vs 10 of the JP8080, but IMO there was ...
