My guess is amplitude modulation.

Re: Sight Unseen Horror Stories

There are scammers out there, but there are way more good honest people. People just remember more and rant louder when they get burned. I have done a few sight unseen craigslist/ synth message board purchases. The best condition anything I have ever purchased used was a sight unseen Simmons SDS-400...

Re: Sources for Vintage Korg Synthesizers

They have an MS-20 rental at Three Wave in Hawthorne, NJ.

They might be able to help find the others.

Re: Sell my Voyager to help buy a new Overheim 2-voice?

What kind of voyager? Price-wise you should be close to be able to switch back without too much loss. How much do you use patch storage with the voyager? That sequencer on the two voice is gonna be fun.

Re: Studio electronics Boomstar?

I've got the moog and 303 filters covered. I'd get a SEM for the SEM filter. So, the 2600 filter would get my interest most. If the sound is right on the 303 filter and the rest of the synth pans out I could see myself selling my x0xb0x for it.

Re: Studio electronics Boomstar?

I for one am super excited at all the choices in new analog in the sub $1000 range. Almost the same +/-20% in features, but very different in character and expression. Character and expression are some of the most important elements for a monosynth since it is monophonic and monotimbral.

Re: Trigger Out from MPC 1000

For a clock you can also try a constant tone (experiment with pitch, I'd go mid to high) with the amplitude modulated from silence to max with a square wave. Adjust the LFO rate to speed up or slow down the clock. Use PWM for freaky effect. Not sure if you could do that on an MPC.

Re: Welson Syntex

That kicks the tar out of my preset organ top monosynth of 1970s Italian origin, an Elka Solist 505. Same preset selection buttons though.

Re: Trigger Out from MPC 1000

Are you triggering a gate/envelope or a clock?
