Re: Need a Dirty Sounding Poly VCO Synth.

You are right the 80 has DCOs. Sorry. It is the 60 with a single VCO. Also, your imagination is either very limited or you know little about being gay. To think playing Jump on a synth has anything to do with Man-to-man love. Being a man and giving another man head while playing jump on a synth, no...

Re: Need a Dirty Sounding Poly VCO Synth.

I have heard Akai AX-60 or AX-80 forget which one, is the ploy synth of dirty delight. Hopefully, someone who has played both will chime in.
Both VCOs. the 80 has 2 VCOs per voice and the 60 has 1. The 80 is missing all the hands on controls of the 60 though.

Re: Little Phatty Lack of Knobs

I find that programming either is quite easy and fast actually. I do as well. Faster than knob per function if the knobs are small and cramped. It takes a lot of space on a panel to use knobs that are large enough to be comfortable with enough space between them to not worry about bumping a neighbo...

Re: Little Phatty Lack of Knobs

^2 ah, thought w/o googling maybe it had a digi lfo or synch, which still lets it say 100% analog signal path like minibrute does but with digi modulation lfo "so we can software update it" said the rep at naam or midi sync it. Yes, the phatty has a digital LFO. Which I am happier to have than an a...

Re: DSI Evolver: Help with sysex programming

The behringer BCF 2000/ BCR 2000 is about as easy to program sysex as it gets (using the 2nd party freeware: BC Manager). The manager software is windows only, no mac version is planned. I put together a template for every parameter of the Roland Alpha Juno in an afternoon. There is an evolver templ...

High Pass/ Multi-mode Filter

I am looking for a high pass filter for processing my entire mix out (or most of it). Played out as it is, slowly building high pass before a drop never fails to motivate the crazies to get their move on. Stereo in or dual a bonus but not a must (I am currently have my live setup with a mono mix out...

Re: Little Phatty Lack of Knobs

Just remembered the biggest limitation to me when playing the panel live. The OSC footings, mod source, and mod destination have a single button that cycles through the options, cycling backwards is not an option. This is where an external midi controller is actually needed. No other option to jump ...

Re: Little Phatty Lack of Knobs

For programming sounds I have not been limited at all by only 4 knobs. For performance tweaking, the only issue for me is wanting to tweak filter and res together or manipulate two parameters in the envelope section. There is pot mapping so each knob can be configured to one dedicated function even ...

Weird they used the same name. Completely different synth. I guess the Dark Energy sold well enough.

2012 "Year of the Monosynth"

Tons of new or renewed monosynths coming out the year. Personally, I am happy than a pig in pooh. I gave up poly last fall to help myself focus on monosynth and percussion exploits. Just saw the eowave Magma. http://www.eowave.com/instruments.php?prod=77 Monosynth with 16 step Sequencer (1 line note...

Automatic Gainsay wrote:I recorded a song today with one of the hardest-to-find knobby synths: The Dewanatron Novitiate.

Does that qualify me for having good luck with a life?
In a way yes. Good luck compared to many others who have lived.
