Re: Multiple instances of FX running parallel
Here is the deal. I am running something out of my pre into 6 different FX units, all parallel (so each one has its own track). Currently I have had no issue just daisy chaining the Y cables, but I feel there has be something like the 'passive multiple' Squarewave Parade used to make or some other ...

Re: What is Your Favourite Analog OSC Waveform and Why?
yup... all very predictable so far.... for me PWM produces some very interesting sounds. There are many other basic waveforms too you know.... The Minimoog has some interesting ones....

Re: 4 hours in a studio!
The studio itself was perfect. It's just that I had to 2 people that wanted to be creative directors and change/add thing all over every track. In the end, the effects were overkill, the compression was heavy, and the levels misplaced. On the other hand, some of the compression on certain tracks we...

Re: What's a Good price for a Juno 60 (UK)
Oh yeah, and not to brag but I managed to grab a JX-10 + PG-800 + an M-16C for around what you'd usually pay for a Juno-60. Okay it lacks PWM, snappy envelopes and the filter does not self-oscillate, but it's way more flexible and sounds really polished and refined. Also has double the polyphony, e...

Re: General question to all synth owners / sysex dump to synth
Hi guys! I would like to see if there's an OS bug in the Yamaha FS1R. I only had 2 synths so far; a Roland D550 and Kawai K5000R (still in use). A few weeks ago I bought an FS1R synth module; I explored it throughout and read the manual but I totally failed to dump sysex INTO the FS1R since I can't...

Re: TR808 Kick drum
Your 808 is of no use to you, give it to me instead. The kick drum changing on every beat is normal, this is the beauty of an analogue drum machine. Nope - I don't agree - yes some minor shift in volume and sound but this sounds like something more dramatic is going on. I agree it's a little odd th...

What is Your Favourite Analog OSC Waveform and Why?
So - if you were only allowed to use one oscillator waveform on your analog synth - which one would it be and why?

Re: Synth examples, post them here.
i dont think they do. With a little work some people dont beleive that its a CZ. I think DX tend to have a more 80s tone about them, but i guess that comes from them being hidiousely over used in the 80s. i dunno, i have heard a lot of sounds on the CZ series that don't sound that 80's or vintage, ...

Re: yamaha cs-5 vs roland sh-101
i have both & would stick w/ the CS-5 if i had to choose. way sturdier & more stable. actually love using a mobius w/ it for basslines. I'm not so sure - I had a CS-5 for 10 years and although it is built like a tank, completely reliable, looks really cool and very easy to use it's not very inspiri...

Re: How to clean a synth?
I have a roland sh-09 (sh09) that desperately need cleaning. The sliders are very hard to move and make it go out of tune! I have some Deoxit DN5 Contact Cleaner. Whats the best way to go about it? Thanks! There are several good writeups on this subject on the net. Three things need to be done when...

Re: TG/SY77 High Contrast Blue Replacement LCD Module
wood end caps are great on vintage synths. just didn't seem like the thing for the SY-77.... gave some thought to metal 'cooling vents/fins' with pulsating red LEDs behind them. The 'Chinese puzzle" construction of Yama 'boards of that era make to hard to fit flat wood parts to it. point of this po...

Re: Rarest Synths
Jen (Jennings) synthesizers and organs are very rare and fat I saw a Syrinx at a store once. Six voice poly, reminds of the Siel Opera 6. And a friend of mine has a (Jen) Syntar, a guitar synth module. These two aren´t even in the VSE database. The Novachord isn't in the database either - argghh!

Re: Rarest Synths
Adamstan, seen it before but it's still insanely cool. Hideaway, there will always be someone who doesn't like X synth. The Wave is an amazing machine. It's great we all like different synths otherwise they -all- be rare :) In fairness to the Waldorf Wave although I've seen one in the flesh, and ye...

Re: TG/SY77 High Contrast Blue Replacement LCD Module
Nice score, man. I've repaired many electronic devices where the transformer had cracked a circuit board. Run some jumpers and you're in business. $52 is ridiculously cheap. Good luck finding the end caps. I have a busted right end one, so if you find a source, let me know. Absolutely! The SY/TG77 ...
