Re: new synth owner!
Hi, wecome to the forum! :D Well I don't want to influence your decision but you may find quite a steep learning curve with the Micron regarding editing the sounds via its menu based interface. Have you looked into the Korg MicroKorg? I think this would be a much better starting synth, it still has ...

Re: Korg Prophecy output jack replacement
Does it completely cut out or just crackle?
If it cuts out I'd bet more than likely it could be a bad solder joint to the circuit board, if you haven't used a soldering iron before, take it to a tech, should be a simple job, and shouldn't take long at all to do.

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY AUCTIONS HERE!!!
minimoog's obviously not gonna sell. how much do 2600's tend to go for? Well, keep in mind these are not just any mini and 2600, the mini is a very early and sought after "RA" minimoog and the 2600 is an extremely rare "grey meanie" which are amongst the very first 2600's made. Given this plus the ...

Re: OSC Oscar - is it a classic and if so why?
also - didn't realise the separators were actually rubber - that's really interesting. Yeah, the end caps are rubber too and very thick and chunky. Other interesting quirks - it has its connections in the right end cheek, and the saved sounds are loaded by holding a button and pressing a key! :D Da...

Re: OSC Oscar - is it a classic and if so why?
The filter alone makes it classic. nothing else responds like the OSCar. Absolutely, I own one and have to say it has the widest ranging ridiculously huge sounding filter I've yet heard - I'd be surprised if the 303 can match it really (and the only synth I have tried that does not lose bass respon...

Re: Best synth buys you've made
Best synth buy for me was the Roland V-Synth, not because it was cheap but because it turned out to be a great buy for me - 'cause I use it all the time

Re: VCS 3 / Synthi AKS DIY !!!
Yes, well they are still supposed to be making them today. Just on a side note, does anyone here have an idea as to the waiting time from EMS for a new VCS3? Wondering if there is a horrific backlog or if it is still possible to get one within a reasonable waiting time. Don't know how out of date th...

Re: Withdrawals
OT - how in the world did your PSU die? Please tell me you had the wrong amount of power going through or something. I use mine every day and your post scares me more than just a bit. Edit: Feel so stupid, tried it again and it was fine - apparently the IEC power cable I used was dodgy or something...

Re: Withdrawals
Not to add to your remorse but personally I would never sell my V-Synth. It's actually just blown a power supply at the moment so I already know how bad it feels not to be able to use it. I really hope i can get it going again - indispensable for me :) OT - how in the world did your PSU die? Please...

Re: Keyboard Stands
hmm interesting. I just bought a Quicklok QL-695 vertical stand and ordered two extra tiers for it. I found it to be fantastic, it was the only stand that I found that would suit my needs and room dimensions. No issues with shoddy manufacturing at all, BUT one thing I found interesting is that the a...
