Re: musikmesse 2010 Frankfurt
Yet again Roland makes some more s@#t I definitely don't want and Korg makes something I do :D ... and the GAIA pronounced "Gay Ear" I presume?! :? Korg R&D seem on the money more than ever these days, and the styling and interfaces are really nice with most new Korg gear, whilst Roland's could be m...

Hi nice synth,
This site has a serial number registration with some contact details, but probably too recent for the artists you mentioned. -

Re: I wonder...
Well It's all about priorities really. If the 303 is something that you want above all other gear (ie. you won't buy anything else till you have a 303), then you will get it in the time it takes for you to earn the money to get one. For the majority though, that can, and most likely will end up taki...

Re: Korg MS-20 - no oscillator sound?
hmm... if it's a bad contact in the patchpanel, what happens if you plug "kbd cv out" to "osc cv in" (or whatever it's called, the "normal" hz/v input...)? An image to make things clearer (not mine), http://www.analogue.org/mr/ms20/pictures/panel2.jpg Well, I did patch an audio signal (just to see ...

Re: I need a MAIN board
I have to recommend that you seriously look into the V-Synth, I have it as my main "pole position" synth, great keyboard action makes it a perfect master controller, brilliant effects particularly reverb combined with the external input make it fantastic as an FX return in the studio or something di...

Re: Korg MS-20 - no oscillator sound?
Yeah, I'll try one last time to see what I can do I don't really know how to "fix" a bad contact, apart from cleaning it I suppose - if it doesn't work I'll be sending it to Steve.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Re: Korg MS-20 - no oscillator sound?
The little normaling contacts in the patchbay sockets can get dirty and intermittent, usually VCO 2 starts getting erratic and then cuts out. I can take a look for you but I have some big polysynths to restore first so I can't take new jobs until I have cleared them out... it could take 4-6 weeks. ...

Re: Korg MS-20 - no oscillator sound?
I see MS-20's come in all the time with VCO 2 dead or intermittent due to patch bay contacts. Also, sometimes it is not that the VCO is dead, but that due to a CV issue it is running fine, but above or below audible frequency range. Hey steve, could you explain further, what do you mean by dirty co...

Re: Korg MS-20 - no oscillator sound?
plug the "kbd cv out" voltage to the "lpf cv in" in the top row. turn the "eg2 / ext" knob on the lpf all the way to the right. you have now patched keyboard tracking for the filter :) note that the key voltage is linear (think hz/v), and the filter cv input is exponential (v/oct). so you'll get a ...

Re: Korg Poly 800
On soldering, thing is to do each joint in one go, so don't keep re-melting and adding solder, if it needs more then keep the iron held on the joint. Always heat with the iron from behind the pin to heat the pin and add the solder from the front. The most common things to note are to make sure the i...

...they probably wouldn't be able to ring up the manufacturers and get parts and manuals as easily as a certified tech would... Anyone tried calling ARP lately? ;)... Well, actually I was generalising in response to the title of the thread. But thanks Mr Obvious, I know Arp is no more :D But good p...
