Re: Behringer to make analog polysynths !
That would be bloody hilarious if Behringer came out with an analog poly before moog  Everything old is new again... 1974: "It would be bloody hilarious if Yamaha came out with an analog poly before Moog." 1975: Yamaha CS-80 - SUCCESS 1975: Moog Polymoog - (oops! it's paraphonic, not polyphoni...

Re: Played a Model D, had an epiphany!
I interpret that as meaning the Sh-101 is good sounding with a sweet spot less than a mile wide... and it's palette is definitely more limited. I'd ask AG what he thinks, but I think that's already clear. No snobbery here- it's a fact. Roland have made a few instruments that were not cost compromis...

Re: Played a Model D, had an epiphany!
To even suggest 101 doesn't have a sweet sound is crazy talk. Agreed. Glad no one did :D hmm well I very much beg to differ... ... unlike the SH-101, the TB-303, and a host of other worthless devices that are popular only by association, the Minimoog is a great-sounding , functionally interesting, ...

Well I took "by association" to be a suggestion of unfounded hype or bragging rights. Either way, like it or not people have to recognise the role those synth played in electronic music.

...But unlike the SH-101, the TB-303, and a host of other worthless devices that are popular only by association.. haha hardly, people have built their careers on these box's alone. I'm pretty sure sound had something to do with it - that is just a BS opinion based on personal musical preference. :?

Minimoog, Jupiter 8 the usual suspects I know but they do make you want to make 80's music even if you don't like it haha

A spare.
...and a spare for the spare.
...and a spare for the spares spare.
...and in case you can't be screwed walking to the other side of the room. A spare for that.
...Oh and if inspiration strikes while you're making a brown note...
You get the picture.

Has to be the Microkorg. Not because it's a bad synth, but because of the people that use it...

Re: How many hardware synths do you own?
hmm depends if you count shitty little Casio's, Yamaha's, Monotron's, Volca's and other broken bits of c**p. If so I vastly miscalculated
I voted for the pro stuff I have not the toys.
But on second thoughts I guess a monotron counts the same as a Minimoog?

Re: Excessively Smelly Gear
You might do well to try some spray on mould cleaner on the wood parts, some are better than others though. I got an SSL compressor a while back that reeked of smoke, took the top off, cleaned the h**l out of every nook and cranny with Iso alcohol (which took off a film of black crud), left the top ...
