Re: So... Why no love for Jordan Rudess?
...Music being subjective, its highly possible and probable to dislike overly technical "musicians" simply because you find it boring. Exactly. And that's the point, the "fastest draw in the west" is a really lame way to appreciate music. There's good technique but without telling a story and going...

Re: So... Why no love for Jordan Rudess?
Surely it's just a super unpopular genre at the moment?

Re: KORG SIX new exclusive products
^ That's kind of annoying. I know a lot of people like iPads but I don't like to be pushed into using them, not a massive fan of dumbing down stuff for the sake of accessibility and convenience. :? Also wondering why they went with white, seems a strange choice given the other Volca cases, or maybe ...

Re: Roland sbx-1 sync box
Sure but i think part of the appeal is having it all in one box, I have enough spaghetti-joined black box's as it is
Plus those Korg box's are pretty rare and go for a small fortune in my neck of the woods.

Re: Synthesist Deathmatch round 1
Kinda tough, musically I find all except Deadmau5 and Vangelis to be rather annoying in some way or other.

Re: Roland sbx-1 sync box
Well I think it looks great, don't discount that this has (I assume) a MIDI/USB to CV converter as well. Adjustable gate voltages for older gear like the System 100 (which is an awesome inclusion). For the size and features this would appeal not just for the TR-8/TB-3 users but also a lot of their o...

Truth is everyone here gets antsy between releases, it's been pretty dry lately.

Re: how many "plug out" synths will roland make before they
Yeah I guess that's true, but I still think it's an expressive feature that I wouldn't want to lose.
The short travel thing is also kinda annoying, thinking historically a lot of mono's had very shoddy keyboards but these days you kinda expect more.

Re: how many "plug out" synths will roland make before they
^ It's the lack of velocity sensitivity that gets me scratching my head, I mean since when did they think *that* was an acceptable omission :? I've listened to all the demos and I've come to the conclusion that the stock System-1 engine sounds like sterile shite, lucky for them the 101 emulation sou...

Re: how many "plug out" synths will roland make before they
I predict 3 plugouts;
- SH-101
- Promars
- Juno 60
...and no updates to drivers, so that once the latest operating system is defunct the System-1 will be a doorstop, like the Varios is now

Re: Why the V-Synth is the best thing Roland ever did
Well allow me to answer that, seeing as it's something that I wanted to know myself (owing and loving the original). I only tried the GT briefly but it didn't take me long to make my mind up. To me it was a faff to use in comparison, thanks to it's not very well laid out "dual" architecture. On the ...
