Re: New beat / EBM agressive synth

You're really not going to get those sounds from Dexed. You might be able to, but it will be pushing FM synthesis to get what was an analog synth. Re: USB 3 or USB 2 for Synth peripherals?

check your power management settings. Try connecting the synths directly to the PC and if it keeps happening, it is the machine not the USB ports. Anyway, most synth devices are going to be USB 2, with the exception of the Virus Ti, which is pokey ole USB 1. Also, that much daisy chaining may not be...

Re: Gig piano/organ VSTs in a custom box?

Most of those are a combination of CPU and DSP. Pretty low-grade CPUs, too.

Alas, both SM Pro Audio and Muse Research are no longer selling their 'run a VST' boxes.

Re: Ensoniq vfxsd issues

The specific known calibration issue was caused by Fatar making a two-section keybed and the connections in between breaking. Their later keybeds don't have that two-section PCB, as far as i know. I have been hammering my brain all day trying to remember the source of the problem, and if i am rememb...

(the VFX isn't a sampler) Anyway, keyboard related problems with ensoniq synths have a very specific set of...

Except, it plays back samples. From SSD, is my bet. And it can import samples. Sample space is kinda dinky for four grand, tho. The other oscillators are 'digital'.
