In my area, for instance, i live equidistant between two GCs... one had... nothing, most of the time (tho i got my Command Station there for $200) the other one, at the moment, has in stock the new Mood Model D and an OB6, among other things.

And no, Synth, not all of it is made in China. Look somewhere besides the crummiest Guitar Center you can locate.

when i went to NAMM (2014?) the Kemper booth only had then profiling amp thing, not a single virus. its like Kemper doesnt care....

There are already several arm+FPGA cores on the board i have seen, mostly for the embedded market.

Small error in the story, Motorola wasn't 'acquired by Freescale', they spun off their chip design and fabrication unit as a separate company named Freescale. The display that is in there isnt a LED, its a vacuum fluorescent display.I've never seen an alternate replacement.
