the same display is used in a bunch of different ensoniq models from the era so at least you aren't replacing something model-specific

$300 for a JP8k is good. The R3 has some deeper editing and more complex voicing options.

I used a K3m editor to do it before... the manual doesn't show a function for dumping from the front panel, but apparently you can do ti via sysex...

yes you're going yo have to go usb out to your PC and then your PC's midi interface (the EIE) to the lancet. USB requires a 'host'- that is, some type of central processor- to work and the MS-20 isn't one.
