Re: Synth for 8/16 bit sounds.
OK. So basically you want almost every synthesis type in existence, without spending more than, what, £800? And without using a computer? And you want it all in one unit? Well, I can answer that for you! Worse, $600usd! I suspect we're feeding the trolls by continually responding to this post. We'v...

Re: Arturia Beatstep or Korg SQ1
Or if you're ready to expand, keep it and pick up something else. It's definitely fun to use, and I usually end up really liking the sequences I design on it. One trick you can use to sync it is the only tape sync trick: take a track on whatever you're using, and record the sq1's sync out for the wh...

Re: Thoughts on the Squarp Pyramid sequencer?
It's really a shame this doesn't have at least a set of drum triggers, especially since it has the polyrhythmic thing going with a Euclidean pattern generator. And I'm wondering how eq can be listed as a midi effect? The only thing I can think of is Cc filter emulation, provided you have a synth wit...

Re: Arturia Beatstep or Korg SQ1
The SQ1 does not like to sync to other gear. There's no midi in, so you have to use sync. It may work fine with volcas, but with all of my other gear it fuzzles the first bar when it gets a clock signal from triggered gear. It's fun, as long as your not expecting it to just turn on and slave to what...

Thoughts on the Squarp Pyramid sequencer?
Has anyone had a chance to check this thing out? It looks like a beatstep pro on steroids!

Re: so Juno 60's are about £1000 now? what the h**l?!
Quick answer- back when it was a well regarded synth and the market was small, people weee aware of its limitations so it was 3-400€. Now that hipsters who only use the presets and tweak the filter cutoff are after "that eighties sound" they can get their self entitled rich parents to pay for it so...

Re: Hardware setup midi controller (lots of feature requests
You know, I actually think the Access Virus TI 1 can do this in multi mode. It's arpeggiator can transmit midi notes on each of the 16 parts, each part can transmit on a different channel, and you can go into the options and set the key range for them and play them all at once, setting up all sorts ...

Re: so Juno 60's are about £1000 now? what the h**l?!
I´m just growing tired of tweaking endless parameters just because "they´re there". Ya that's a fair point I think. Like I said earlier, limitations are very productive in creative work. But paying nearly 3 times what the thing is worth to get some limitations? I'll pass! The first thing I'm intere...

Re: so Juno 60's are about £1000 now? what the h**l?!
The calibration could be why two of my Juno 60's sound different, but not the Junos and the JX. They're just different instruments with different tone qualities. It's like my radias and Virus TI. The JX has a completely different filter, and doesn't self oscillate like the Juno at all. Check out my ...

Re: Which synth do you think has the nicest knobs ?
It's not the knob quality- If I remember, it had a covered-in-rubber feel that was pleasing. Personally, I think it feels a little more pleasing when the knob's not covered in rubber... But then you lose that extra protection, which is worth the peace of mind. I do find that using a little extra lu...
