I finally got it to load by lowering the transfer speed, using bulk loadO and holding down the shift button on the D550 when pressing enter the second time. Also had to turn off write protection under the tune menu as well as in the MIDI menu. Thanks for the help!

The internal battery died in my d550. I've replaced it but now need to restore patches etc. from my mac OS 10.5.
