Re: Wish For An Analog Synth Magazine
If you just can't stomach the sound of them, here is a site that shows some way to reuse them: http://www.designboom.com/contemporary/cassettes.html I can't stomach hipster recycling either. Any more ideas? I wouldn't reccomend burning them. They probably put off some noxious fumes. Do you ha...

Re: Wish For An Analog Synth Magazine
Back on track, though, for a moment... How many of you would actually subscribe to an analog synth magazine? How much would you be willing to pay for 6 or 8 issues a year? What if it was printed on pulp or newsprint with limited color? What would be your price point assuming that the writing was top...

Re: Wish For An Analog Synth Magazine
I have to say I have always had a love/hate relationship with the Compact Cassette format. I liked their portability but I hated all the moving parts and their tendency to break, squeak, melt, distort, etc. I loved the ability to record on them, though. I was not sad to see them "go" but I am also h...

Re: Wish For An Analog Synth Magazine
I've been learning German for a whle now and it is a pretty hard language. Not impossible but difficult.
It's been about a decade and I am just to the point where People in Germany do not automatically answer e in English. It now takes a few sentences before they figure out that I am not fluent.

Re: Wish For An Analog Synth Magazine
There are lots of niche/special interest magazines that are doing OK. My wife has worked in print advertising for a couple of decades and it is getting harder to sell ads in a general publication, there are still tons of mags about hobbies, old cars, dogs, collectibles, etc. You won't make a fortune...

Re: Lords of the Mini?
I am a member there but I have pretty much given up on it. I have seen people post questions there and be totally ignored. I'm not talking noobish irritating quesitons, either. I mean real questions that were seconded by other members but nobody bothered to answer. Same thing at the Moog Music forum...

Re: the time of your synth sessions
I do most of my recording, composing, and playing in 15 to 20 minute increments. There is always a lot to do around my place and I have to snag a little time when I can. This will go on for a couple of weeks and then I will have a 2 hour session or two after the family has gone to bed. I often work ...

Re: 909, 808, 303 - Worth it?
Cost and worth are related the way climate and weather are. The cost is the price of a specific item for a specific transaction or at a specifi time and/or place. At Wal-Mart a Hot Wheels car costs $.87 but at Target it is $.98. The car is really worth much less since I would be lucky to get $.50 fo...

Re: 909, 808, 303 - Worth it?
There is a lot of talk of wether these machiens are worth the money that peopl are paying for them. I say they are worth every penny. If somebody is willing to pay $2,000.00 for something than that thing is, by definition "worth" $2,000.00. As far as the value of these things peaking, that will prob...

I've posted this before but my Yamaha CS-50 had a penny rattling around inside for the first 20 years I owned it.
